Restoration (2016)
Very Impressive Movie
Ken Stewart gives a moving performance as C. K. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie, the characters and the directing. With all of today's movies with so few actors that you can care about, this little movie provided touching, realistic humans struggling with life - especially with Ken Stewart's portrayal of an ordinary man surviving a tragic past.
Surprised by Love (2015)
REALLY LIKED GRIDLEY!
LIGHT HEARTED COMEDY REQUIRES A GOOD ACTOR. PAUL CAMPBELL IS ONE OF THE FEW HALLMARK ACTORS THAT CAN DELIVER A GENUINE PERFORMANCE. I HAVE WATCHED THIS SHOW SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE OF PAUL CAMPBELL'S LIKABILITY.
I THOUGHT 'SURPRISED BY LOVE' WAS ONE OF THE BETTER HALLMARK MOVIES DUE TO GOOD DIRECTION AND A FOCUSED EFFORT BY THE ENTIRE CAST. WHY ARE ALL CANADIAN ACTORS SO MUCH BETTER AT CREATING SEXY,CHARISMATIC CHARACTERS?
AND..... IT NEVER HURTS TO HAVE A TIM CONWAY IN A MOVIE
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
15:17 to Paris is a real film for real families!
It was refreshing to see a movie that the entire family could watch and enjoy together. The 15:17 to Paris was intelligent, well put together and extremely relevant to today's world. We were impressed with Mr. Eastwood's audacity in not going with typical Hollywood"stars" and used the real men to reenact their situation. That was the reason I wanted to see it. I had been told the reviews were not that good - which is a shame. Most critics do not want to see anything that reflects a human being that believes in God. Mr. Eastwood is still at the top of the game in actually producing films that the movie-going public enjoys. We thank him and hope he has a great time at Pebble Beach this week.
Darkest Hour (2017)
A Movie For All Ages
Thrilled that my 17 year old granddaughter wanted to see a movie about a man I truly respected and admired, I believe she liked it more than I did surprisingly. I know everyone is raving about Gary Oldman's performance but I could not shake off thinking of him as a psychotic killer. He usually portrays rather over the top characters. Maybe the director wanted to show Winston more as a confused old man who knows. The film had a unique stylized approach and the entire cast were excellent in complementing the film.
This movie is superior to much that is put on the screen today. Seeing a well acted portrayal of King George VI made me think of an even better movie in 2010.
Cannot wait to show my granddaughter Tom Hooper's film of "The King's Speech" and the exceptional performance of Colin Firth.
Maybe I am still mad at Gary killing wonderful Leon in "The Professional."
Satisfaction (2014)
Matt Passmore Deserves A Better TV Show
After waiting patiently for someone in the TV industry to bring back to the weekly TV screen one of the very few sexy, exciting, and entertaining male actors of today- I am mortified to see Matt Passmore wasted in such trash as "Satisfaction"
What is wrong with the decision makers of TV? Sure, there is a certain few who like pornography but there is a far larger world of normal women who would follow most any premise featuring such a likable personality that Matt Passmore possesses.
I know of many women in an age range of 16 to 66 years old who loved Matt Passmore in "The Glades" and, like me, looked forward to seeing him in a new series. Matt Passmore's likability rating has to be off the scale for all genders, so why can't we find him in something that the entire family can watch. The BBC can handle sex with class in shows such as Sherlock but I have yet to see any new American TV series do so.
So disappointed!
Not Safe for Work (2014)
You just don't find great villains often. Extremely well done movie!
Have just watched 'Not Safe For Work' a second time just to enjoy J.J.Feild's fantastic performance again. Joe Johnston, the director, does a great job keeping the plot moving at a fast pace and Max Minghella is perfect in his role. The chess match between Tom and the Killer is riveting throughout the movie climaxing with the '11-22' last breath.
I do not understand the low IMDb rating as I highly recommended this movie to my entire family. It did not have language that offended me and it definitely was exciting from start to end- something that cannot be said about most of the movies offered today.
J.J.Feild's British coolness reminded me of the Terminator II villain who just kept on relentlessly coming after the protagonist years ago. You just don't find great villains often.
Max (2015)
Highly Recommended
Very satisfying to see a real family movie with excellent acting, quality production, and relevant plot. The cast were all superlative but still upstaged by the fascinating portrayal of Max. Young moviegoers today seldom get to see a real movie-everything is computer generated. "Max" is a gem of a movie. I have not been as astounded by an animal's performance since watching "the Bear" done many years ago. My hat is off to the animal handlers, cameramen and director. Not many movies bring tears to my eyes nor do we get to leave the theater often as jubilant as we did in seeing "Max." It was certainly worth the price this time!
