Expedition X (2020)
Could be better
I love most of Gates' stuff. I also like the idea of having a scientifically trained investigator versus a paranormal investigator. However, Jessica is about the worst choice to fill that latter. You can hit her in the face with physical evidence and she will still claim that it's paranormal. I'm not really sure how she got a reputation as a legitimate paranormal investigator anyway. I've been doing this a long time and I've never heard of her in relationship to the field. Since she's in the entertainment industry, you would think that her exploits in the paranormal outside of this show would be common knowledge. Maybe I'm being too hard on her but I have a sneaking suspicion that if I were to view anything else that she's a part of, I'd still find her annoying. You guys want to increase your shows popularity? Find someone legit to replace her.
Ghost Bait (2019)
Frauds
Just came across this page. I've only watched an episode or two and could not get through them. BUT.... I run a team in the Atlanta area and had a heart attck a few years back. About the time it happened, we got a call from a past client in Hawkinsville asking us to return. I really could not at the time and I had gotten an email from a production company asking us about cases that could be referred. I was feeling bad enough at the time that I did not stop and consider what I was doing and I referred my case to them. It ended up being the episode in Hawkinsville GA. These people did nothing but muck up this case and after a lengthy recovery period, I had to go back down there with our team. These are not paranormal investigators, they are entertainers. We in the public need to learn the difference.
Ghost Adventures (2008)
Demons, darkness, drama, duplicity, dumbness
OK, for starters, I'm part of an investigative organization, so you can take this for whatever face value that you'd like. I used to like this show in the first few seasons. They seemed to be just interested in exposing the unknown and giving us a little entertainment, which is to be expected out of any TV show. But ever since Nick left the show (coincidence or not), this tripe has gotten laughable. It has absolutely turned into a commercial grab for audience. Nothing about it is real. Nothing about it could be remotely considered to be good methodology. Nothing about it should be take seriously. What's worse is that it has encouraged an entire genre of paranormal fan-girls (yes, specifically) to blindly swallow whatever koolaid is being peddled this week. Females are being pointed out here specifically because if you go to any social media site where this yahoo has a presence, it's about 90% constituted of rabid women fans who attack anything objective that is posted. I don't get it. I thought successive generations of humanity were less susceptible to con games.
Shazam! (2019)
Don't really care what others think...
...but I got a charge out of this flick. It's pretty much the way a teenager would act when suddenly granted super powers in an adult body. A trip to the beer store, some petty larceny, some angst, some ego stroking. It's funny, it's light, and it's entirely believable in Billy's probable reactions to the situation at hand. Even the first fight with the arch villain goes pretty much the way that it would sith a kid who has the power, but doesn't really know how to use it...i.e. RUN! I hope that they can build on this with a nice sequel. In retrospect though, knowing Hollywood, that's probably asking too much.
