Black Bird (2022)

Each episode is a treat. Taron is dazzling and well-cast as always and Hauser is brilliant... as always. Loved the overall direction of the first episode particularly. I rarely give reviews but I feel this show's gotten thrown by the wayside as most true story-type mini's do. Give it a shot.

Peacemaker (2022– )

I LOVE IT!

James Gunn being James Gunn. John Cena (Peacemaker) is tragically wonderful. Vigilante (Freddie Stroma) is a scene stealer and one of my favorite characters in recent television history. He's akin to an unapologetically psychopathic Robin. And Tasha from OITNB (I forget her name) is incredible! A true star. It's rare nowadays for me to look forward to a show. This and Euphoria are killing it (in different ways, of course). Loving this, though. Goes from funny to pitch-dark to melancholic to funny again all in the span of 45 minutes. Great show!

Seriously, who are they? Because, from my view, they seem completely joyless and lacking in any sort of substance. Or maybe they just blindly hate Hollywood and any depiction of it (out of envy, of course) from their mother's basement in Oklahoma. Regardless:

One of the funniest and most entertaining shows ever made. Loved every minute of it. The ending to S3 was nothing short of brilliant. Wish they would have, or could have, continued. Casting is perfect. The writing even better. Probably the most underappreciated show of all time. Do yourself a favor and binge!

To my hyper-negative "Prolific Reviewers," find love or something.

Heartbreaking & Beautiful

A cinematic work of art. The saddest film I've ever seen, possibly. Clint is amazing opposite Morgan, and Hilary is just groundbreaking. I saw this film when I was 18 and it never left my psyche. In my opinion, it is a must-see. From the performances to Haggis' writing and Clint's seamless direction, it is a 10/10 and simply an unbelievable experience overall. Watch it. Maybe keep some alcohol on the side.

Unfairly treated

This is a wonderful rom-com with tremendous lead performances. Anne Hathaway is amazing. Jake as well, obviously. This was likely packed in back in the day as a vulgar R-rated comedy, but I see it as more. There's a depth to it. If you're not afraid to feel, check it out.

Filth (I) (2013)

Watch this masterpiece

Look, I get it. It's vulgar, grotesque and aimless. But, actually, it's not. Well, it is that too, but allow me to continue.

I rented this film and was wondering about 30-odd minutes in why I bothered. And then I watched the rest of the film.

It's a commentary on decadence and self-loathing while also, ultimately, being an absolutely BRILLIANT take on grief, love, masculinity, and insanity. The last 5 minutes, in addition to the abrupt (and awesome) credit sequence, left me smiling like a little boy. It's an incredible film and James is a lovely talent. Anybody giving this a low rating simply doesn't understand the point of the film, and should probably go outside and live a little so they may someday do.

Watch it. You won't be disappointed.

6 Underground (2019)

Genuinely enjoyed it. Tons of plot holes and general absurdities but it makes it all the more fun. This genre typically isn't my cup of tea but Michael Bay, in my personal experience, doesn't disappoint within his purview. It's clearly an action movie. So watch it expecting an action movie; (certainly) nothing more, nothing less. Great time with friends or even by yourself. Only wish it could be seen in a theater.

This is one of the most incredible shows I've seen in a while. Sure, it's a little graphic. But it's raw and visceral in the greatest sense of the words possible, and certainly something I've never seen before. If you don't like it- if you can't relate to it- don't watch it. Simple. I know I at least have another thing to look forward to on Sunday. Incredible visuals and striking cinematography, perfectly-paced writing, great acting, very interesting characters.
