ALF: Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue? (1986)
I remember this episode for how weird it is
I Loved this show as a kid but I Always found this episode kinda unsettling however. I Just didn't dig the idea of ALF having a crush on Lynn. It changed the dynamic and also ALF was a fully grown adult alien. Lynn was 16. And ALF and Lynn had like a sister or niece vibe with each other And for him to be interested in having a relationship with her was just flat out uncomfortable. Seeing it again as an adult I felt exactly the same way. As far as the first season goes once it gets to this one it loses all of it's previous charm. You can safely skip this episode and forget that it exists. You'll be fine.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
STELLAR ANIMATION but a HORRIBLE FILM
Don't let stellar animation mixed with nostalgic awe fool you. This film is a complete mess! It's Hollywood (rightfully so) going on the assumption that just the property itself would bring people to the movie theatre. The film is abysmal, one dimensional characters, hopelessly boring and YES Chris Pratt is POORLY CAST his name sells tickets nothing more this is a pathetic cash grab and epitomizes the evils of current Hollywood stay away from this completely useless forgettable film YOURE BETTER THAN THIS No choice but to give it a passing grade for animation as its truly fantastic but its an awful film.
Saturday Night Live: Jack Harlow (2022)
3 might be being too generous
If you missed this episode consider yourself lucky! I NEVER write reviews but I've NEVER been so perplexed at how ANYONE at SNL thought the content in this episode was funny! It was absolutely JOYLESS and free of ANY humor! Even cameos from Tom Hanks and Bobby Moynihan (not that they SHOULD have) could even save this putrid entry. It wasn't the fault of Jack Harlow he was CLEARLY game for the show but the writers and Lorne Michaels should be ASHAMED of themselves! This wasn't comedy it was like pulling teeth watching everyone involved TRY to be funny and failing miserably. An insult of a show!
MacGruber (2010)
Here you have the greatest SNL based movie since Wayne's World and it's criminally underrated!
I'm not much for writing reviews so I'll keep this brief. This film should have gone down in history as a classic! There's a reason Lorne Michaels didn't produce an SNL movie for ten years! There probably wasn't a recurring SNL character worthy of a full length feature for that time. It's a wonder if MacGruber even was on the surface a great character to make a movie out of. That's debatable BUT this film completely works! It should have been a film series! Unfortunately I think because of past disappointments from other SNL features the audience wasn't there to make this a box office hit like it should have been! Luckily it gained a bit of a cult following over the years but this is quite an underrated film. Will Forte was brilliant in it and it's among the best I've seen of Kristen Wiig. Val Kilmer is also great! It's a shame not more people went to see it. It's actually a great popcorn flick! Highly recommended to watch if you want a completely immersing comedy to watch. Only thing is that if you are not a fan of raunchy humor it's probably not for you. I give it credit 99.9999% of SNL character based movies didn't take risks and stuck to PG-13 humor. Not the case for MacGruber. They went all out but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It completely worked with it's racy content. An SNL film that gave you a REASON that it was released in theaters and not on TV. Definitely worth checking out! No spoilers here just watch and enjoy the lunacy!
South Park: Butterballs (2012)
If I could give this episode lower than a one I would!
Absolutely one of the worst episodes of the entire series! Season 16 is pretty much garbage except for the Ziplining episode!
