One Piece (2023– )

Feels like I'm the only sane person in the world

I held it in for a long, long time, but I can't anymore.

Acting: Subpar.

Writing: Even worst!

Creative Liberties: A shot through the head for everything that is One Piece.

I get the reaction for people who are not fans of the Anime or Manga, but I'm pretty sure the vast majority giving a chance to the show are people with background as general Anime fans.

This show is as lacking as any Anime live action. My opinion is that the crowd for whom live actions are tend to be made is the biggest part of this show high rating, the other part are the toxic kind of One Piece fans.

What however shocks me the most is that this show got Eiichiro Oda's approval. I mean, past couple of years is sort of tuned down the quality of the Manga in all but art, but still...

P. S I'm not saying it because of recent news about Disney wanting to bring down Netflix and One Piece. That company is beyond salvation, in my opinion.

Gen V (2023– )

Had reservations from the first promo

Finally gave it a chance and you know what? It's just as bad as I predicted it would be. Every cliché The Boys dodged up till now, every social agenda, is on full blown display in Gen V.

Pick any young adult show 5 stars and lower, that's Gen V's writing quality, only this one actually had the foundation for something awesome.

I wouldn't be surprised if like The Rings of Power, Amazon is messing with the ratings and reviews, not that it will do the show any good, it didn't for The Rings of Power.

Skip it so Amazon will now at least its viewers has standards. Disney realizing it, barely, after nearly burning itself to the ground.

This one is an atrocity to the franchise. You know the writing is bad for a fact when good actors and actresses seem bad. Not sure what happened other than, yes, some very unnecessary tropes. But those not enough to destroy the movie. Either way, not going to think about it. This thing not worth it.

But... Wow!

Best DC movie since Snyder's cut, but let's not veer off from the animation realm.

DC had a good run before it rebooted its animated universe. When it started to release its movies with the new animation I thought "this looks interesting and new". Sadly the stories were considerably underwhelming. I mean, Super Sons was okay and Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham gave a new edge to Batman, but not really held as a completely new and intriguing story.

This one was weird and confusing and weird and confusing, but!

It was building up the story in a good way, imaginative and didn't shy from having new takes for old characters and stories.

The Flash (I) (2023)

Went after seeing titles of some of the reviews, aware of the WB & DC cinematic state, reading about Ezra Miller's escapades and most importantly... familiar with the already awesome animated of the same story, so safe to say my expectations were low.

The bad... predictable for those familiar with the mechanism of comic's stories and some illogical plot points.

The good... everyone's acting, Easter Eggs, the drama, comedy and action, special effects (mostly).

Sad to know this is the end of the DC's cinematic universe as we know it. Hope JG will blaze a better, more stable future. Unfortunately, I don't expect the two upcoming movies to be it...

DC's animation was always the jewel of its crown. When they rebooted their animated universe and revealed new animation with a Superman's movie, I was overjoyed, but ever since that first movie to this one they nearly destroyed the entire franchise!

Clerks III (2022)

Wholesome!

After Jay and Silent Bob Reboot I lost faith in Kevin Smith. Seems like there is a border between staring KS and recent KS.

Clerks 3 is Kevin Smith best work after Clerks, not because it's not as good as Clerks, but because it can't be as good without Clerks.

Apart from minor stuff, KS captured the essence of what makes a perfect sequel, which as a sequel it's among the best out there, with multiple layers of evident appreciation to the original work.

Now my only hope is for KS to stay on this track. This movie is a proof for the great stories still in him he can deliver.

Well then, off to re-watch!

I grew up on this series and even as a child I could infer how superior it is to other kids' shows.

Re-watched as an adult (my country dub - awesome theme) and no surprise it's even better than I remembered!

This is probably Peter Pan's adaptation. From plot to characters, the good and the bad, to soundtrack and animation, to its very ending, everything just beautifully and dynamically build up to a masterpiece of a show!

Honestly, if I didn't like the cast so much and minus was possible, I'd have given -8/10. Don't know how people can call themselves fan of JR yet write the story around him so generically!

Length, plot, characters the movie fails in all three spectacularly, most of all in the first two.

That's how much her character ruining the show.

Apart from season 2 which is messed up at around mid season to the end of the season, every plotline and character is enjoyable if not gets a pass, but not Jess. She's the epitome of bad lead writing.

Honestly, even that horrendous "Wonder Woman: Bloodlines" wasn't as bad. Knowing the same writer wrote the soon the be released "Justice Society: World War II" made me lose all expectations to the movie. Will stay away from both him and the director, should I take note of them being part of anything I'd watch in the future.

A mesmerizing, fantastic masterpiece that is even more phenomenal for the fact it didn't have the stable foundation the Marvel's movies built up before shooting something of this scale.

The sole thought that brings me regret is that perhaps, even if Zack Snyders did get to finish the movie for theaters as he wanted, there is no way it'd have been at this length. For it to work at a typical length for this type of movies, it first and properly needs to establish the foundation for each character.

Either way, now it's all patched up and ready for the next stage, if only everyone involve would give it the chance.

Not that it is good. It's quite terrible and pointless. Not sure why they keep letting Paul W.S. Anderson write and direct. Honestly, it's better to not do the movie at all than further lower the standards. At least Milla Jovovich still looks good...

It's like Assane is a level 1 "gentleman thief" everyone and everything treating as level 10, and as a result it backfires on what could've been a good show.

The problem I see here with DC's films, other than the stupid writing in this one, is that they always push a world level menace into one film, start middle and finish.

It's like they refuse to learn the concept of "Buildup".

Yes, you can say other comic films outside of DC done it and done well, but that's because while the threat was at a world level, it was dealt with before it could implode.

I'm Jewish so I tend to avoid heartfelt movies with other religion's theme simply because, not because I mind them, on the contrary. It'd be harder for me to relate and have a true sense of what the movie's suppose to be.

Here it wasn't the case. The concept of Santa Klaus or celebrating Christmas were delightfully presented in a universal point of view, transcending faith.

In Hebrew there is a saying: "Proper behavior precedes the Torah". Replace the word "Torah" with "Tradition" or "Customs" or anything along the lines, and this is the moral of the story beautifully taught in this movie!

The New Mutants (2020)

Dani brings the movie down for me as a cliché character. Rahne as a love interest also feels forced and rushed.

The rest of the trio is what brings up the movie up. They are actual characters that undergo development throughout the movie, a fun and not extensive, which fits an hour and a half. In contrast, Dani's development was at best comical at worst zero effort by the writers.
