Great Show Bring it Back!
OK I know this show had more holes than my knitting, but I loved it. I bought it recently on DVD, expecting to be a bit disappointed, but really enjoyed it. It has a quaint charm and energy all of its own. When it was originally broadcast sci-fi was an outdated genre, but is now firmly back on the map thanks to Dr Who and the like. Surely the BBC could risk giving this show another chance? Even the writer and creator Anthony Horowitz, has called it the one that got away. It was limited by its own time travel concept, but since Holly is a science officer, all she needs to do is invent a way of returning and they could get involved in crimes throughout history. Imagine them witnessing Jack the Ripper, or planting clues to get the Yorkshire Ripper caught. Go on Anthony and the BBC, give it one more try.
Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002)
This film has to be seen to be believed.
I bought this because I like shark films and I like John Barrowman in Doctor Who. I wasn't really expecting much. Little did I know that I was about to see the funniest film ever! The Shark is pure genius, the size of a double decker bus. The stupid Spanish accents are brilliant and the acting was appalling.
My personal favourite bit is when the token girl goes to get something from the waterlogged cabin (in a blatant take off of Deep Blue Sea) and the worst model shark you will ever see bursts through the door. John Barrowman bursts in, grabs a baseball bat and starts smacking the shark over the head with it shouting "Die shark, Die!" I was laughing so hard I fell off my bed.
I have a pretty impressive DVD collection, but somehow it always seems to be Shark Attack 3 that is out on loan.
