Doesn't reach the quality of season one, still enjoyable because of the characters

This episode isn't great. The first thing I want to mention is the directing. Murder House (and Asylum as well) played with the camera a lot, in a good way; it made the show feel really claustrophobic. I feel like they wanted to replicate this, but it just fell flat to me. This episode had some really weird shots and scene transitions. It was immersion breaking and felt kind of unprofessional to me.

However, seeing the Harmon and Langdon families again was really cool. I loved Ben and Michael's little story, and I was glad to see Tate and Violet finally being together. Also, Emma Roberts' acting was excellent this episode.

The Apocalypse story stuff wasn't good though. The Satanic church was really, really bad. Their costumes looked fake and cheap, them just picking up a random girl and Michael eating her heart felt way too easy and their acting wasn't good at all.

I enjoyed this episode only because of the Murder House characters, even though I like this season so far more than the previous four seasons. I think the drop in quality of this show was really noticable to me with this one, since it took place in the location of the near perfect first season. Still worth the watch because of the Murder House characters though!

Oh and by the way, did we really need to have Billy Dean Howard in this episode? She didn't add anything to the story at all. She was just kind of there.
