Drop Dead Diva (2009)
This Was An Excellent Show Up To Season 5, Episode 3-5ish
I have seen this show, now for a second time and seriously, the last 1.5 season and episodes are a far, far stretch of reality. No one that I know would graciously grant my best friend the sperm of my ex-fiancé, the acceptance of their sexual relationship and their upcoming nuptials. All of this on top of the death and return of Graysons character as a inmate on death row. I don't know if they lost writers, focus or became bored with the official direction of the show, but they lost all of their sparkle with the dream, singing and special guests that I thoroughly enjoyed, including the late Joan Rivers. Don't watch the last season as I have made the mistake of doing so which has now left a bad taste in my mouth!!
Anna (2019)
Of course, Luc Besson hits it out of the park again!
I have always been a fan of Luc Besson movies immensely! I stumbled upon this movie, though the reviews did not sound favorable, I took a chance without searching any further than a brief description of the tale. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and was captivated from the first moment to the end! Though, had I known it was a Besson picture, I would have waited but I thought I would fall asleep. I was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was, so I looked up as to who the writer/director was. Once I read that it was Besson, I was not surprised in the slightest as he is one of our favorite writer/director. Outstanding as usual for Besson to create an excellent movie with intrigue, thrilling and excellent acting by all, as usual Hellen Mirren was brilliant!!
Watch it as you will NOT be disappointed!!
Chronic (2015)
Very Moving
As a person who suffers from chronic pain, it brought to me a sense of compassion for David as he is clearly dedicated to his patients and that was very touching. I felt that the movie moved brilliantly as it mirrored the lives of people who are sick, struggling and suffering. When you are ill with a sickness for long periods of time, life does move slowly for you. Days are much longer, harder to deal with as the hours tick by while you struggle for relief or an offering of help/compassion. You can also see that behind Davids eyes, he carries much grief and possibly guilt for his son, as you discover through the conversations that he shares throughout the movie. It is almost as if he is trying to redeem himself for his choices in the past, good or bad, that he seeks redemption. As for the ending, I was shocked as to how it played out. At first I thought it was by accident, but then I thought of Davids pain and guilt. I felt as if he could never truly forgive himself, given the prior conversations he had with others, and he felt that he could no longer live with that pain. I have always enjoyed Tim Roth and found his portrayal of David spot on.
Bad Company (2002)
Overall An Excellent Film
I was intrigued by the choice of Chris Rock and Anthony Hopkins together, hence I decided to sit and see what I was in store for. I was pleasantly pleased with the movie overall, though it ran a little long, but the premise was delightful. I also enjoyed Chris Rock and his humour and delivery. I found Anthony Hopkins played his role spot on with his ability maintain his character without a miss-step, which was brilliant. I never considered these two in a film together, but they played nicely off of each other. If you would like to enjoy a comical action film, light on the action, you will enjoy this film. It is much better than some of the critics reviews, I must admit that I enjoyed it thoroughly.
