The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire (2023)
Sid & Marty Krofft
Egads, this episode was awful. Reminded me of those cheap Sid & Marty Krofft Saturday morning shows. Cheap effects, over-the-top acting, and comically inept villains. I half expected Witchiepoo to make an appearance. And it was extremely poorly directed and written. What has happened to this once quality show? It almost looks like a parody of itself now. I'm also disappointed in the direction of the show this season. I'm beginning to think this is the last season for Pascal. The show is no longer focused on his character, instead going all over the place, with whole episodes barely including him. May be better off watching old episodes from the first two seasons than the current drivel.
The Chemistry of Death (2023)
Enough already...
...with the endless flashbacks (and I mean flash) to his wife and young daughter. Either explain what happened or move on. It's EXTREMELY annoying. And what a wimpy, uninteresting main character. Couldn't care if he lived or died. Thankfully, the other characters and main stories are interesting or I would have given up after the first episode. That's what makes the show so frustrating. It has promise, but with such a poorly conceived (or portrayed) main character and the endless flashbacks, I'm not sure it's worth the effort. I'll probably wait til the current multi ep story arc ends and then give up, unless David suddenly grows a pair and becomes less of a wimp, and they come to their senses and stop the annoying flashbacks.
Adjusted the rating down from 4 to 1 star after the 6th episode. The solution to who killed the girl found burned in the cabin MAKES NO SENSE!!!!! So the old man who found the body and notified the police and then pestered them to investigate because "we get pushed to the back of the line", ends up being the killer???????????? WHAT??????? No one would be investigating if he hadn't said anything. Where's the logic????? Awful awful awful.
Interview with the Vampire: ...The Ruthless Pursuit of Blood with All a Child's Demanding (2022)
Was really enjoying the show until this episode
The first three episodes had been very good. Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, and Eric Bergosian have all been great. The writing and production values have also been great. But the show made a serious mistake with the introduction of Claudia in this episode. She is an extremely annoying character and Bailey Blass is a terrible actress. Her performance is truly cringing. What were the producers thinking? I'll give the show another episode, but I'm afraid the Claudia character will not get any less annoying nor Bailey become any better actress. That's a shame because the show has been great up until now.
BattleBots: Champions (2022)
Why??????
What's the point of this new tournament and trophy? It's the same bots, the same rules. If you are going to have a new tournament, DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!! Put all 8 bots in the box at the same time or remove some of the restrictions they have during the regular Battlebots tournament. I don't need to see the same lame fodder bots like the horrible Smeeeeeee in another tournament. Thumbs waaaaaaay down.
Moonhaven (2022)
Thank you Writers!
Thank you writers for making Moonhaven so god awful I won't be wasting any more time with it. I went a whole season on "From" and at least 4 episodes of "Invasion" before realizing I was wasting my time on them. But with Moonhaven, I knew in the first 30 minutes of the first episode that it was bad and stood no chance of getting better. Thank you!
From (2022)
Spotlight on Harold Perrineau
We can debate the writing and how slow the story is unfolding, but one thing I think is safe to say is Harold Perrineau is fantastic as Boyd. He has a commanding presence and is very believable as a retired military who organizes the scattered inhabitants of this town from Hell and serves as sheriff. I would follow Boyd anywhere. Harold Perrineau is the main reason I'm forgiving the writers for being slow in revealing what the heck is going on and keep coming back for another episode.

Tenet (2020)
Pretentious and BORING
1. Ridiculous premise. Ridiculously bad physics. A Flux Capacitor would make more sense.
2. The lead actor has zero charisma and is completely out of his depth. Terrible choice to lead an action film.
3. Kenneth Branagh is laughably bad as the villain. All that was missing was a curled mustache so he could twirl at as he spat out his horrible villain-cliche lines.
4. The "plane crash" that is suppose to be so great was limpingly bad. It was basically an oversized vehicle very slowly running into a fake building. It never even left the ground! May have as well been a bus. What a overblown, overrated stunt.
Christopher Nolan has become too full of himself.
P.S. I'm writing this before I've seen the film. That's how the ridiculous physics works, right?
Perry Mason (2020)
Trash Heap
Horrible. Matthew Rhys is a terrible Perry Mason. Completely miscast. Even the great Tatiana Maslany and John Lithgow can't save this trash.
Alex Rider (2020)
Disappointing
Had high hopes for this but they got a lot wrong. Otto Farrant is OK as Alex, but you need to be a lot more than just OK to build a series around. Very little charisma. Alex Pettyfer was a much better Alex Rider. Except for Thomas Levin as Gregorovich, the villians were all very boring and terribly cast. And all the members of the Department were also terrible. Best part of the series was Brenock O'Connor. Plotting, staging, and character interactions were all dreary and boring. The movie was not great, but at least it had the right tone.
Better Call Saul: Something Unforgivable (2020)
Let Down
Disappointing end to the season. They should have wrapped up the series this year. Breaking Bad only needed 5 seasons to tell a more compelling story. Better Call Saul appears to be needlessly padding to get 6 seasons. Very disappointed.
Tales from the Loop (2020)
First Episode Failed Miserably
If the first episode was meant to draw me in to watch the rest of the series, it failed miserably. Boring, obvious, lazily written "plot". Actors who looked as bored to be in the show as I was watching it, and music that tried its best to put me to sleep. Is it a serial or is it an anthology series like "Amazing Stories" and "Twilight Zone"? I'll never find out because I have zero interest in watching any more episodes after that horrible first one. Possibly the worst show I've ever seen on Amazon.
Future Man: Ultra-Max (2019)
Boring end to a funny season
What a terrible, boring episode. A very disappointing end to a funny season. Just 25 mins of nonstop talking, mostly from a very boring Seth Rogen. If this is a taste of season 3, I'll pass.
Ghost Wars: Whatever Happened to Maggie Rennie (2017)
Brilliant Performance by Meat Loaf!!!!!!
The series so far has not been great, but good enough to keep watching. Hopefully, this episode is the turning point. It is by far the best of the first five episodes. The whole cast does a great job, but seriously, you have got to watch this episode for the incredible performance by Meat Loaf Aday. WOW! What a gut wrenching yet sympathetic portrayal of a tortured and bitter man. If the show was on a major network he would be a shoo-in for an Emmy nomination. Here's hoping he gets the recognition he deserves.
