Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Nice video game visuals with a missing story
The visuals are great and often times videogame-isque. Otherwise the story is shallow and childish.
Can't wrap my head around how the important parts weren't given enough importance (yeah, just leave your forest tribe to save your ass or let's send someone from earth to chase a single guy in the space for no reason, etc.) and yet an hour spent in showing unnecessary visuals. The characters are boring and you don't feel any bonding to any of them. The dialogues are again childish and don't give a feeling of a good writing. It gets boring often times because of all these things.
Another annoying part was that the HFR seemed coming and going and wasn't present in the whole movie which makes it difficult to get used to HFR or cinema fps.
TBH it was a disappointment except for the nice visuals.
Bard of Blood (2019)
Painful to watch
It belongs to one of the collection of "poorest made series". Everything about this is just terrible (save for somewhat realistic locations).
The research is nonexistent- this is definitely not how secret agencies work, this is not how agents behave, or this is not how agents shake hands in office. Woman can roam without nikab in that part of Pakistan and can drive cars. The roads are in superb condition in Balochistan (Kudos to Pakistan). Agents have their codes but speaking with real names in in middle of public, lowering their guards when needed the most and what not utter nonsense in every scene.
Dialogue writing and delivery is terrible. Pashto sounded so forced and unrealistic. Urdu is not Urdu anymore but Hindi all of the sudden. Somehow Mullah and Baluchis can speak Hindi.
The direction and acting is at its poorest. So artificial as if from some amateur high school drama. The only bearable acting was from Jaideep and the agent "X". Shobita, Imran and everyone else disappointed big time. Actually Shobita's character is the poorest written and executed, not to mention another cringy written American woman's character.
All in all this is a big disappointment. The only bearable aspect of this series is somewhat ok cinematography.
Donde caben dos (2021)
Disgusting and silly
The message in the movie is somewhat okay but the execution is terrible and painful to watch. The incest plot was outright disgusting. The gay plot was at least properly acted.
The movie seems to rely on the formula of nudity and sex but without any substance or class in it. Even the sex is shot/shown aesthetically.
Mind the Malhotras (2019)
Lame, boring, pretentious
This was a really boring sitcom which tried too hard ro copy from American sitcom. Copying isn't the problem but the execution and characters are disaster. Everything is so fake in the show - dialogue delivery, situations, body language, characters. (gramdma being most original and Rish & daughters being completely off)
What do people think before making such crap!?
Away (2020)
What utter BS!
Netflix please, if you are doing science fiction then could you please stick to it and consult some experts from area? Why to fix unbearable family drama and politics in science fiction? There are already plenty of telenovilas for that! Would you also stop making fool of yourselves and people while showing sci-fi- is this how nasa selects space mission teams? How cannot even get along before the mission? Do the astronauts ge5 every minute family drama feed while in space? This series is utter BS, made for some sobbing sissies :/
Scams (2019)
A fun watch
This was a fun watch! Not the best Japanese television but the series is pretty engaging and interesting to watch. At no time it gets boring with all the little jokes put every now and then. The story line is based on true facts and doesn't feel overwhelmed.
Most importantly the episodes are not lengthy! Give it a try.
Paradise Beach (2019)
An ok watch
It's not great but it's also not terrible or boring. Some scenes are unnecessary but in general it's a watchable movie.
P.S. The review complaining about "unfaithful wife", didn't understand the movie apparently.
