Parks and Recreation (2009)
Egad
Again, another attempt at taking a SNL style character and expanding on it beyond it's 5 minute skit lifespan.
I do like the "fake" Pawnee, Indiana website they created. Borders on being realistic, until you see the picture of Amy on the sidebar. I live in Indiana and you can tell it wasn't filmed here, but who really cares about that, I know.
The comedy looked forced, and I wondered if the cast and crew was asking themselves if people were going to laugh. It just didn't have any steam.
Please, don't make another episode.
That was just awful.
The Casino Job (2009)
very entertaining!
I thought this movie was very entertaining. Cool plot and I love the actresses. I didn't think the sex was too gratuitous. I've seen more explicit content in some major Hollywood movies.
I heard this was made on a very low budget. If so, I think they did a great job and should inspire other filmmakers, like Rodriguez did.
Irina Voronina is worth the price of rental alone! I think she is an up and coming actress with a future ahead of her. Also, if you are a Jay Anthony Franke fan, you'll like him in this. He did a great job. The others also added their own touch to make it a cool movie.
If you are looking for an entertaining movie with the the significant other, give this one a look. Sure, it's not going to win an Academy Award, but it fulfills it's goal and then some.
The F-Zone (1997)
It is the truth....
Josh Martin doesn't have a clue, so he shouldn't even comment on this movie. But of course, he throws around the usual leftist names for anyone who doesn't goosestep to their Marxist ideologies.
Right-wing militia.....yawn....
There IS prove the Sixteenth Amendment wasn't ratified. There IS proof there is no law that requires a US citizen to pay income taxes. In fact, a recent court case, brought on by an attorney, asked the IRS to provide the law, and they couldn't....in a court of law......
But the "F-Zone" is a primer to Aaron Russo's "From Freedom To Fascism". This documentary is a must see for ALL Americans. Watch how Mr. Russo interviews former IRS commissioner Sheldon Cohen and ask where the law is, and Cohen can't answer. Sheldon then threatens Russo by saying in Yiddish "Nothing can help you".

Death Curse of Tartu (1966)
Good B-Movie Bliss!
I used to catch this movie every once in awhile on my local creature feature show Saturday afternoons back when I was a kid in the mid 70's.
Scared the crap out of me then. Made me afraid of snakes. I remember at the end when the snake was biting the guy (Fake snake of course), and it would strike the lense of the camera, I had to cover my eyes (remember, I was a kid).
The skull in the quicksand was freaky too.
I had no idea what the name of this movie was, and a few years ago I went searching. After a few months sleuthing on the net and posting descriptions on numerous forums, I got the name, and was happy to know it was out on DVD as a double-feature. Ah...B-movie Bliss.
If you are a lover of B-movies, I highly recommend picking this one up!
The Feeding (2006)
Pretty bad
I love B-movies, but I have to admit, this was pretty bad and nearly unwatchable.
I work in the indie film industry, so I respect the fact that the filmmakers were able to get enough people together to make this stinker, so I give them that, but that's about all.
There is a scene towards the end, when three survivors are in the cabin, the chick ranger is explaining what the hell is going on (she all of a sudden becomes the expert) but notice her head turning as she addresses the other two survivors. But if you look at the scene, the other two survivors are standing one behind the other. Bad editing indeed. I had to rewind the DVD to see if I missed a 4th person in the room.
The werewolf, though a commendable SFX effort, looked more like a Power Ranger villain.
I guess I wouldn't be so critical if the filmmakers intended this to be fun and campy. If they did, it didn't work.
