The Couple Next Door (2023)
Surprising, compelling TV
I actually don't like "sexy thrillers" and I expected this one to be as predictable and boring as many others before. What I didn't expect to see was such a surprising and exciting story and such wonderful acting. The whole cast is incredible and the twist and turns are fantastic. I went into it, believing we would see a nice couple and their creepy neighbours and in a way we did, but in the end it turned to be all upside down. Neither the sweet innocent, the nerd nor the stupid but hot af cop turned out to be what they seemed at the beginning. Only the swinging hippie Becka stayed actually true to herself. I was glued to the TV and many layers, many surprising character developments later I was afraid to start the last episode, because I rooted so much for my favourites and didn't want them hurt. Great show and compliments to all.
Love Again (2023)
Lovely 2 hours
I loved this sweet, adorable movie and I'm convinced if you don't come out of the cinema after watching it, happy and humming Celine Dion, then you can't have a heart. Such a relief to watch a positive, hopeful movie like this one in times like these. I thought the cast was excellent and the story even though predictable (what do we expect of a Romcom?) Still original and fresh.
I laughed heartily about Celine Dion's wisdom, Sam Heughan's adorable Portrait of an adorable, slightly awkward dork and his supporting colleagues. And I cried with Priyanka Chopra's Mira, who was hit hard by destiny at the beginning of the movie.
I thought Mira and Rob made an adorable couple with a nice chemistry and I'm definitely going to see this feel good movie in the theaters again.
Bloodshot (2020)
Predictable but good-looking
I enjoyed the movie. The story was very predictable, but it looked really good and it was entertaining. The only character that I got really curious about though was Jimmy Dalton (Sam Heughan) and I thought he was sadly underused. Eiza was beautiful and Vin was typical Vin. Not bad, but not brilliant either. Good enough for an entertaining evening at the movies. I have to agree with those, who said the trailor gave too much away. It definitely did.
