I loved this ride
25 May 2022
Damn entertaining!

It has more or less the same GREAT script as its predecessor, but that's what we expected. A long ride into the past that really thrilled me and shows how much Tom Cruise (and not just him) cared about making this film.

A love story with us the audience that I will never forget.

Rating this with 1 or 2 stars is so silly

Yes it's not like the videogame. It's a sci-fi tv show. A damn good one. There is a story, a good plot, excellent actors and, most of all, there is a true suspence in everything happen on the screen. I want more of this.

House of Cards (2013–2018)

An awesome drama, almost completely ruined

Warning: Spoilers
So, Claire become the POTUS. It was predictable since S3, so that's totally foregone. And it's not the problem with S5: the main issue to judge S5 as a complete failure it's the way the facts take place, as well as some loud mistakes.

So: if the main feature is the betrayal between Claire and Frank due to the unpredictability once the Power is reached, it is not understandable why the fact did not materialize for the first four episodes, all focused on the fraud during the elections and the annihilation of a character, Will Conway, which in the end is carried out through an his own mistake (not even contextualized as it should, a very serious fault for a drama), with only the result that the character suddenly and mysteriously disappears as it appeared.

Pointless. Like the whole second part of S4 and the first of the S5. This is the only reasonable conclusion that a streetwise spectator can gather. Everything then get to that in the second part of S5 after an huge "MacGuffin" with the sole purpose of delay and camouflage the obvious.

Which only takes place at the end, after the crashing and completely out of character Frank's resignation because they are very simply justified with a sudden inside-out/sliding door, which among other things destroys the Doug character, since he was supposed to be a martyr it really was better to crack it at the apex - do not let him kill Rachel, and also the Claire character since she becomes like Frank killing a man for his own weakness (I have to be lost in the piece that Claire knew of Franks's murders), making a mistake that will condemn her for a more than predictable retaliation by Frank who will return to both...

This ultimately leads to what a careful spectator had understood by a very long time: the Underwoods are nothing but anxious enemies, a fire that almost started from the beginning of the series and that finally came. This is the only reason that makes me hope for the good continuation of this, anyway, epic series.

Galactic Civil War on the Big Screen, finally
19 December 2016
As I hadn't been afraid to saying that Episode VII was a tremendous crap, this time we must certainly admit that they've have done a really good movie. This time really unmissable.

Clear demonstration that not everyone knows what is necessary to give the Star Wars the epic that it deserves. Rogue One it's about every element well taken care of, from the story to the characters to lot of action without tacky rubbish.

Yes, some little holes in the plot, but after all all of the Star Wars always had them, and very cool almost "stealth" references to the first three episodes, that has been a real pleasure to seize.

If they make all the spin-off like this... well they do them, we will not be tired anyway! Ah, and to whom binds Star Wars to lightsabers alone... for me you're not a true fan of Star Wars. There is much more, and Rogue One is an entire anthology about.

The Three Guys Hit Again!
30 November 2016
Yeah that's the name this show gotta have, mantaining the TG acronym for me. Maybe it has been an issue of rights. Let me be completely honest here: these three wretches are now a little bit vintage. We exactly know where they want to end up, we love them for that and we even watch 'em over the internet. But hey, actually many did it already.

GT exactly is what was expected and this is great but to be honest, after a sensational first episode (not be otherwise...) the second already seems to me something too seen. Always great, always hilarious but a little bit discounted.

Fact is that seeing them is always a great pleasure, but at this point I'm expecting much more from the new series of Top Gear that I hope will be totally ruled by Chris Harris.

That said there are still many episodes GT coming and I do not think I will ever be grateful enough to these three crazy men about what they put on. Thank you!

RoboCop (2014)

Quite as good as it could have been
20 February 2014
(No spoilers) I really don't understand those whom complains about this film. It's a remake, made almost 30 years later than the original. Can't be the same. It isn't intended to be the same. It's more mature, since the 80s had been more "innocent", even if more innovative for sure.

So that's Robocop, again, and it has been filmed to get a more precise, more modern, filming of a cyborg who has been hurt maintaining and is asked to maintain the law. Even Detroit has changed, and this is damn a news. So, I did appreciate this movie for what it has intended to offer to the spectators.

Criticism? Lot of. Since the theme it's more actual(military drones and such looks more realistic today than they were thirty years ago, right?) Then I had to expect something even more cruel and realistic than this, that somehow still is romantic and utopic.

But, as a product, the new Robocop movie offers very good (science) fiction material to watch and enjoy. A must see for all the fans of the genre.

One of the most underrated science fiction movie ever.
7 December 2013
This is the sequel of a masterpiece, 2001. So it has to be a mess, right? Wrong.

Yes, the novel by Arthur C. Clarke on which the film is based is even better, but you know, something has to be rewritten to accommodate the Hollywood industry, focused on bigger audiences.

But this is one of the very few sci-fi movies where pure astronomy and aeronautics are at the center of the scene, and not something ridiculously ugly and pathetic came from another world only to be owned by our heroes.

It's made for two reasons: try to explain what the hell happened in 2001 and what the monoliths are made for, giving a damn good finale to the whole story.
