WWE WrestleMania X-8 (2002)
An Average Wrestlemania
Best match of the night was Rock vs. Hogan. High offensive moves traded, a crowd divided, and the torch is passed, rock wins. Triple H vs. Jericho Another good match but better one on one without Stephanie, Triple H wins undisputed title. Austin vs. Hall Austin proves he is the toughest S.O.B. again, Austin wins. Maven vs. goldust pointless in a way because the match ends in the parking garage but hardcore nevertheless Maven retains Hardcore title after pinning Christian. Jazz vs. Lita vs. Trish Stratus a match added just to fill the card, Jazz retains women's title. Edge vs. Booker T a fight for a shampoo endorsement, a great match, Edge wins. DDP vs. Christian good match, DDP retains European title. Kane vs. Angle Alright match but Angle was just looking for a fight and not revenge. Regal vs. Rob Van Dam great match and great start, Rob Van Dam Wins Intercontinental title. Tag title match good as well, Billy and Chuck retain. Buy this If your a wrestling fan or collecting Wrestlemania.
WWF Unforgiven (2001)
Kurt's Homecoming and triumph
The match of the night were Chris Jericho vs. RVD. Summerslam's main title matches were better than the unforgiven ones. Perry Saturn Vs. Raven was stupid because Saturn fought for a mop. Tajiri Vs. Rhyno was short but pretty good Rhyno wins U.S. title. Angle Vs. Austin as most say should have ended at summerslam and I think the scenario for title match was ridiculous because angle tries to throw Austin off a bridge, Angle wins. The Rock Vs. Booker t and Shane o' mac had too much interference and a lot of unconscious refs watch summerslam match, rock wins. The tag team match was a decent match. While Unforgiven is not best it still could be worth watching. I think if you are a WWE fan, buy it and every other pay per view. Matches are good but scenarios are stupid for the matches.
Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001)
Go counterparts Go!
The film and movie soundtrack are excellent. This is the best nickelodeon film I have ever seen and this is better than the series that was built on its foundation. Wait a tick, Isn't Steve Oddekerk the guy who played the chosen one in the hilarious Kung Pow: enter the fist. The 3-d animation is great and this is hilarious thanks to the fantastic scriptwriters and actors who provided the voices. If There was an award for best nick movie my vote would go to Jimmy Neutron for a great project in filmaking. Go rent or buy the movie if you haven't seen it yet and if you like the film, get the soundtrack as well. Jimmy Neutron Rocks!
Con Air (1997)
A five star action flick for anyone who has the need for action
I have seen the film five or six times and it's great every time. john malcovich is great as Cyrus "the virus" Grishmam almost as if he was destined to play that part. Nicolas Cage, Dave Chapelle, John Cusack, and the other make this one of the best convict films ever. Jerry Bruckheimer In my Opinion, Produced a bigger and better film than Armaggeddon and Days of Thunder and also redeemed himself. In fact I would say Conair is better than Air Force One, another film involving a hostile takeover. there is not a dull moment and it is exactly what movie reviewers say about other film, It's an on the edge of your seat ride. Give Bruckhemier an Academy Award for this film. Casting and the final story is perfect.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
They saved the best for last !
The film has a slow start but the suspense and action builds as the film goes further. George Lucas redeemed himself after the flaw in Star Wars trilogy, Episode 2 was produced and released. Little romance, a lot of action in Episode 3 and a lot of romance and little action was the problem with episode 2. Ewan Macgregor, Natalie Portman, Hayden Christensen, and the rest of the Star Wars crew deliver great performances once again. Yoda may lose the final battle against the Emperor, but still kicks butt. The special effects, crew, casting, and direction are combine to provide a great Star Wars film and maybe the best out of the six. Finally, I can say It's safe to be a Star Wars fan again. If you have not seen this film, go out and see it because if you like star wars this is one film you'll never forget.
Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)
Not better than the first, but almost as good as the original mission from god
The only thing the second film lacks is John Belushi as Jolliet Jake and just as much if not more places that the Blues Brothers explore, and John Candy and Cab Calloway. Dan Akroyd is great as Elwood Blues, Joe Morton has a great singing voice and was right for the part of Cab Chamberlain, J Evan Bonifant is great with the Harmonica and also belongs in the band, and Goodman may not have the best singing voice but he can still sing pretty good. More new artists are seen in the film and the rest of The Blues Brothers band are back and ready to rock the house once again. The Bluesmobile is cooler in the second movie. One thing I would like to have seen was more gigs before the big performance and a few more car chases. If you don't have this movie, go out a buy this movie and I think you'll watch it as many times as the original. Don't believe the doubters, either try to think of my comments as the truth or try seeing this film for yourself and decide what you think about.
Casper Meets Wendy (1998)
The last is a stinker
Casper meets Wendy lacks the female heroine that was played best by Christina Ricci as Kat Harvey. The Witches in Hocus Pocus are more believable than the witches in this film. Even though the main heroine is suppose to be young and outgoing, I think Hilary Duff was somewhat inexperienced and in a way could not fill the shoes of Christina Ricci. Cathy Moriarty is better as a villain like in the first Casper movie than somewhat of a hero in this one. Casper and the ghostly trio are the best characters and my favorite characters, too. The film is also missing the male hero or main character like Dr. Harvey and the guy played by Steve Guttenburg, who was good in Tower of terror. The main reason why I don't feel this is the best or even as close to being as good as Casper is the plot and lack of some more excellent main characters. I've never heard of this guy who plays Desmond Spellman, but I don't think the villain should be like an evil Businessman. The Henchmen should not look like the men in black with blasters.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
He's Back and better than ever
Arnold Schwartzengger delivers his best performance yet as the ruthless Terminator. Linda Hamilton makes a path for women in action films. The plot, the casting, and special effects are excellent. Terminator 2 is the best terminator films in existence. James Cameron deserves an academy award of some sort and so do other actors that are part of the project. Just like the Blues Brothers, I could watch It more than once if I could. The film is so great for how they were able to comprise what they did at that time and make the terminator films as popular as Star Wars and Back to the Future. For edge-of-your-seat action, rent or buy terminator 2: Judgement day. No matter what reviews purpose, see terminator 3 because its almost as great as Terminator 2.
Hulk (2003)
What incredible Hulk?
I had to wait to see a film that doesn't even deserve a two thumbs up, what a joke. The story is shown as a comic book with moving in it and live characters and the ending is Bruce Banner unleashing his rage on some dude in South America. spider-man and X-men are at least shown on the movie screen like other movies are, without split screens. The story has no villains except for the dumbest thing they come up with, Bruce Banner's father who gets mutant dogs to kill his girlfriend. The only incredible Hulk I see is an emotional wreck. The father as another angry green giant is hardly seen, you can barely see him. The scene where he tells Jennifer Connelly's character not to go in a room is stupid because their is nothing there, so he was afraid of nothing. For standing in line for an hour, It was sure not worth the wait.
The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)
The biggest let-down of Spielberg's film making career
The plot has no flaws but,In my opinion, there is too much talking and not enough sci-fi prehistoric action. About thirty minutes or more are spent on arguing or talking. Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3 got to the action quickly instead of having a build-up to most of the action. The actors chosen were no problem to me and I think the book is better because It goes more in depth as to what led to the great expedition. See Jurassic Park 3 and you will see why it is better. How Ian Malcolm's daughter comes in to the story is a problem because he said he had more than one kid in Jurassic Park. This picture is another film that is one of the worst films of 1997.
Days of Thunder (1990)
The Thunder of Nascar unleashed on the big screen
Tom Cruise plays Cole Trickle, one of the best performances of his career and also in Top Gun. Robert Duvall was the best you could get, he's a crew chief who's ready to throw in the towel but sticks by his wild and impatient driver and shows he still has got what it takes. I think the only things that are wrong with this film are their are one two many rivals, Earnhardt always seems to be the leader especially when Rowdy Burns is the real leaders, and most of the film seems like it takes place at Daytona and not Bristol, Rockingham, or Darlington and others, and Phoenix seems more like Rockingham. The plot is great, casting was good, and they captured nascar racing for the first time ever, and I like nascar racing. Go 24, Jeff Gordon!
Seabiscuit (2003)
A Heart-felt Underdog story of hopelessness to greatness
The plot could be no better and it is bigger and better than remember the titans and equally as great or better than miracle. Chris Cooper was good in October sky and maybe better in Seabiscuit as a care-giver to horses and an expert on horses and what they're good for. Tobey Maguire gives his best performance as a jockey who no one thought could win and proves everyone wrong in an enormous way. The only thing that is uncertain is did Pollard and Seabiscuit win the last race and what's next for the foursome who ended the depression era in an unexpected and surprising way for them and others who watched them rise to the top. The moral is with a little hope comes greatness.
Batman & Robin (1997)
Schumacher and Batman's worst hour
Clooney says some of the dumbest things ever and get knocked on his @ss repeatedly and smiles too much. Bane probably is the most intelligent but the dumbest because it seems like he has no brain. Mr. Freeze had a good actor to play his role but he was a confusing character to follow because of his changing emotions when he was supposed to be a heartless villain. Elle Macpherson and her character were a waste of money and talent because her role meant nothing in the film. Poison Ivy was more of a sex-obsessed mother nature than a villain. Money was wasted for cheap props, some horrible casting, and a director who should get out while he can and should not have directed the third and fourth Batman films because they were screw-ups. Don't waste your money for a DVD or VHS copy of one of the worst films of 1997.
