Glossary of Broken Dreams (2018)
It's like Tumblr took the form of a video.
It's so unbearable to watch that their "message" falls short. This might possibly be the worst thing that I've ever seen.
"Puppets. Pixels. Anime. Live action. Stock footage." is in the description. Let's just go ahead and change that to: "Stock footage. Cringe. Stock footage on a loop. Cringe. More Cringe."
The thing has a "trigger warning" in the opening credits! It's so bad. It's like Tumblr took the form of a video.
I'm a far left liberal saying that these people hurt more than they help. Nut up, this is why we lose elections. Know why the right wins? They don't look like a pack of pu--ys.
If you're thinking about watching this, just read the description, because if you can survive that then sure, waste your 2 hours and go make a tumblr account.
Zero stars. Never make anything ever again. Grow up and nut up.
The Neighbor (2017)
William Fichtner doing what he does best
William Fichtner, I'm also that guy who tore into the new Top Gear while praising you and hopefully I also correctly named off some frustrations you dealt with working with BBC.
This movie would be a 6/10 at best if it wasn't for the fact that you can't take your eyes off of William Fichtner. His acting is incredible. It makes this film.
No spoiler here but if you're expecting a lot of action, don't. This thriller is an emotional ride. It's hard for me to explain but the film doesn't hold your hand and guide you on how to feel or who's side to be on. It's easy to have some discussions about it with your friends and family afterwards and find out they feel completely different than you do.
It's interesting, genuinely interesting. The director did an amazing job. The actors were great.
It's hard to recommend this one because afterwards most people will say "but nothing happened." Just watch it and don't expect a ton to happen. This thriller is all in the acting and it's very good.
Top Gear (2017)
Went in with zero expectations, knew it would suck, it sucked harder than expected
I never leave 1 star reviews. It has to be unwatchable on every level. This fits that description. BBC what the hell? The back and forth "jokes" are soooo forced. Sooo canned. What sucks even worse is that you seem to have an awesome front man. Why couldn't you stop micro- managing so much and just let that dude be creative/interesting/funny/entertaining on his own? Oh that's right, you're BBC, you can't allow that. William Fichter, you're a smart dude, you had to have known how bad this was going to bomb. They must have offered you a lot of money. Hell I'd take it too. Don't worry, this won't taint your resume, this show has already been forgotten.
And Punching the Clown (2016)
2017 is starting off GREAT!
Hey, Henry Phillips isn't for everyone. He's calm, he's chill, and he likes to sing some of his jokes in folk songs with that silky smooth voice of his.
He had a stand-up special forever ago and I loved it. Went to his website, checked to see when and where I could see him and never got around to it.
I somehow managed to see this while browsing the Internet and was thrown back. It's been forever! This movie covers, what I can only assume, is close to the reality that Henry Phillips has gone through over the past decades.
I'm not going to go into too much detail but if you like Crashing on HBO, you'll LOVE this.
Henry, you're one of my favorite comedians and I wish you the best. Keep up the great work.
Oh and call Netflix and get a special, and call HBO too because you need to appear on Crashing.
To everyone else: It's not for everyone, I'll admit it. If you truly love comedy and the life of comedians, this is definitely for you. No matter what, when you watch it, PAY MONEY. Seriously I torrent a lot of stuff but I can't do that to my man Henry Phillips. Buy this. Rent this. Contribute to more of this.
P.S. 2017 Comedy is starting off great, even though Amy Schumer dropped a turd on us with her "leather special."
Bokeh (2017)
Incredibly boring
90% of the scenes take place in locations where there would be no people anyway.
This comes across as very cheap.
It's mostly him following her with a dumb look on his face while he takes photos with an outdated piece of junk camera.
