Perfume Imaginary Museum Time Warp (2020)
Definitely one for fans... others will likely struggle to find something to enjoy here
In leiu of a cancelled stadium performance in the wake of the COVID outbreak, Perfume would later release this online "live concert" and career retrospective of sorts - but with the high audio production values combined with green screened choreography over flashy computer graphics, the result is actually closer to a set of glorified music videos.
I'm not the world's biggest fan of Perfume exactly, but I do personally tend do adore the production/composition works of Yasutaka Nakata, so I was happily able to enjoy the combination of music and dazzling visuals. His style of bubbly, squeaky-clean electropop might not be for everyone, but if that sort of music is your jam you also might enjoy what's on offer here even if you aren't a fan of the group.
Otherwise, yeah, there probably isn't much to take away from this, when the "live performance" aspect itself isn't the most riveting. Check this out if you're a fan of Perfume, the music genres they generally operate within, or perhaps you enjoy the spectacle of spatial 3D art or digital installations. If none of that sounds appealing then this is a pretty hard to recommend.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
Cosmic Sin
Bad script, bland plot. A whole load of sci-fi gibberish that was absolutely not convincing. Acting ranges from poor to mediocre. The costumes look like convention cosplay, and the sets look like lasertag arenas. Pretty forgettable cinematography. The entire budget must have been spent on the very brief space & ship scenes, because they're the only parts of this entire film that feel remotely believable.
Too small of a budget spread WAY too thin - there are so many elements that fall to the slightest scrutiny and require too much imagination or forgiveness to be passable. It's simply asking too much suspension of disbelief to be enjoyable. The whole affair just feels pretty directionless and meandering from scene-to-scene.
