Jack Frost (1997 Video)

Not the Frosty you wanted but you got anyways
16 December 2022
A must watch for Christmas time! This movie doesn't care that it's bad, that's what makes it great! A killer snowman?! What could be better? Terrible acting, but the death scenes make up for it! Lots of inconsistencies but I think this movie is a cult classic. Be sure not to mix this up with the Michael Keaton Jack Frost. Hopefully there will be a remake or more Jack Frost movies in the future. I think the best thing about this movie are the puns and one liner. Shannon Elizabeth makes her debut here and her whole scene is the stand out scene. And it's a shame the actor who plays Sam passed away. Long love Frosty.

The Batman (2022)

I'm Batman, and there's something in the way
12 May 2022
I'm so sad to see so many negative reviews. I absolutely loved this movie. I think having this movie made as a detective thriller made it more interesting. It has horror elements and is still a hero/villain movie. The mood and tone really reflect how terrifying it is to live in Gotham. Robert Pattinson is a good choice for Batman, for he is so moody and mysterious. The use of music was also very good, low key and creepy. This is the kind of movie I can watch over and over again. Starts off more horror but then turns thriller and action. The ending was somewhat satisfying for me but if there is a sequel, I will be watching. Great casting and a good movie overall. Would definitely recommend.

Good mystery thriller
1 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy whodunit movies like this. It reminds me of Identity, which is another good movie. This movie has good mood and atmosphere to it, you genuinely feel like you're there with the characters. Unfortunately, it falls short with its dialogue and the characters. Had there been a few extra characters it would have been more entertaining, instead of basically knowing the bad guy all along. Now as soon as I saw Dale Dickey I knew something was up, as she normally plays the villain. The villain(s) are clumsy and dumb, as well as the heroine. She got the cop killed needlessly. She really did try all her might to get the girl to safety, but she did make a few dumb decisions. Ultimately I did like this movie and would definitely watch again, but the characters agitated me.

Seann William Scott goes into new territory
28 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Now I like Seann William Scott, but this role didn't suit him. Sure we've seen him as Stiffler, and it's great to venture into new roles, but this wasn't it. The storyline is essentially the same as the show Dexter, only not as extreme. I enjoyed the concept of it, as Dexter is one of my favorite shows; however, the acting was below average and almost every character was unlikeable. There was a few twists that were nice to see, notably the ending. I saw it coming with the mother but not the wife, that was interesting to see. I liked the music and the color of the movie, but ultimately it fell short. I wouldn't recommend but I'd watch again if someone asked to see it.

Leatherface in a bed of flowers
22 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I actually quite enjoyed this. Yes the actors are not the best, but the drama and horror are fun to watch. Everyone complains about the whole "wokeness" about it but that's the world we are living in now. It's a silly movie not meant to be taken seriously. The plot is real thin, the gore is more extreme than some other TCM entries. The bus scene is downright one of the best moments of the film. And the mechanic guy surely deserves a pat on the back for really trying to finally kill Leatherface (and let's face it, the mechanic was the only person we were rooting for). That ending was actually really good, made me do a double take. I would definitely recommend, it's a fun and goofy movie. It ranks in the middle of the TCM franchise. I'll be watching again come Halloween season. And the poster for the movie is amazing, Leatherface in a field of flowers is so magestic.

Essentially a remake of Scream (1996)
16 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Was really anticipating this and hoping it'd be good. However, it was essentially the first movie but with gen-z. Almost the exact same plot line. But while it seemed repetitive, it did add new spice. Almost every character was crazy and made me suspicious that they were the killer, so that is a plus (even though I figured out who it was early on). And it had the guts to kill off a beloved character. The opening scene was different than all the other movies, and that made it feel a little disconnected. I'm not sure I'd watch again, but it wasn't the worst of the series, but also certainly not the best.

Disappointing and ridiculous
16 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly, Rob Zombie's movie is better. This movie is just over the top and ridiculous. A mob of over 20 people and Michael kills every single one of them?? I like that they bring the old actors back, but this whole movie is a jumbled mess. The logic just doesn't make sense. Too many flashback to present moments with no transition. Many people die and there are comedic moments, but it doesn't save this movie. Overall, I'm disappointed but I will still go to see Halloween Ends.

Let down
11 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Watched to see what the hype was all about...but there is no hype. While it does have creepy music and atmosphere, it is ultimately boring and such a let down. Though the parts with the goats freaked me out. But I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Too much of a slow burn with no pay off.

Miss you Tobin Bell
23 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't exactly expecting it to be like the other Saw movies, but I wish it followed in its footsteps. This is more so a separate film from the other saw movies. Jigsaw is mentioned but nothing truly screams Saw other than the fact that John Kramer is mentioned and there's someone making a tape. The traps are unwinnable, like the guy still got electrocuted even though he opted to have his fingers ripped off. The reveal on the killer is almost too obvious. It is gory, and entertaining, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Chris Rock was disappointing in this role.

Love the series
9 April 2021
Listen up! This is not meant to be taken seriously at all. It's blood and guts and gore. It's got a basic storyline that everyone knows and just goes to town with Victor Crowley going after dim-witted tourists. I love this series, and all it has to offer. It's got a few horror icons appearing briefly: tony Todd from candyman and Robert Englund from NOES. It's not highly original but it's hilarious and full of passion. I'd def recommend.

Always rooting for Samara Weaving
24 February 2021
I LOVE SAMARA WEAVING! Man this movie is pure fun. It's an okay concept but the way it's executed is pretty good. Samara plays a woman marrying a guy with a very hostile/secretive/questionable family. The fact that she has to play a game after getting married is ridiculous. If I were her, I'd be like "whatttt?" But once it gets going, man it just goes. You're rooting for her the entire time. And that ending! Man it's kinda confusing to understand, but google helped explain it better to me. I got a Heathers vibe from the final shot. No sympathy for the rest of the family, just Samara's character. It's not meant to be taken too seriously and that's what is so great about it. It's just a fun ride. Would highly recommend to others!

Everyone is awful but it's a great movie
24 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is a brilliant film. I love the gas-lighting idea, haven't really seen it performed so well. The fact that this movie made me not like children is impeccable. I understand why the kids have reservations about dads new girlfriend (grace), as their mom committed suicide and they just don't seem to think she's a good person. But they just don't give her (grace) a chance. They just immediately berate her and make her feel unwanted. Now with grace, she has a very dark past, and I understand that she doesn't want to push onto the kids too much or too fast, but at least she is making efforts to be friendly with them; heck she nearly died for Mia just so Mia could have her toy doll. The father, boy... let's just say it says a lot about him to leave his children with an almost complete stranger to them. He leaves them without a car, in the freezing cold in the middle of nowhere. He knows the children don't like Grace, but he leaves them anyways. That's very bad on him. Seeing the kids slowly make Grace go insane is sad and upsetting. She really loses it and you feel bad for her. The children are awful for what they are doing. And in the end, what does it do for them? What's the pay off? These kids need to learn it's not okay to mess with someone's medication and their general well-being. I like this movie and would recommend it to others. Well-acted and a great concept.

Fantastic movie with interpretive ending
12 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
One of my favorite movies. Always brings tears and emotions. The thought of your child being abducted is terrifying in itself, and then having a parent try to bring justice makes it even more intense. Wonderful performances by everyone, especially Jake Gyllenhaal and Melissa Leo. The storyline is mesmerizing and the atmosphere is very gritty and yet so clear. The ending is took notch, leaving it up for interpretation. Does Keller get discovered and lives? Or does he remain under the ground and die? Really makes you think about your life and if the actions you take make it worth living or not. And to think about having someone else's life in your hands. So many red herrings...I love it. Ultimately this movie is always a great watch and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Love this show, ignore the hate
28 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Ignore all the people hating this show saying "nothing happened", when they clearly were on their phones while watching. The show says a lot about prison and the terrors within. the show has amazing character development, for example: I hated pennsatucky when she was first introduced, but I ended up loving her and mourned her tremendously sad death. Daya stated off so sweet and loving, and turns into a ruthless top dog. There are many dark and tragic moments, as well as many humorous moments. I've watched this several times and still get emotional. Don't even get me started on Poussee'd death. I'd rewatch this again and again. The only reason I didn't rate this a 10 is because the show Wentworth is just a bit better but still love OITNB.

An extreme version of Saw
14 January 2021
Love this movie! It's like Saw, only more extreme and gorier. While the acting isn't the best, the storyline and soundtrack is amazing. It has Josh Stewart as Arkin, a former criminal, working for a family; his wife needs money to pay back loan sharks, and so he decides to steal from his boss while he and his family are out of town. Little does he know when he gets there, a more demented psychopath is there and boobytraps the place, intending to kill anybody there and take one person back with them (hence why the movie is called the collector). Doesn't that sound awesome?! This dude I ok the time to know the house and set up a wide variety of traps, from bear traps to acid to knives. We are rooting for Arkin to get out alive and either kill or escape from this evil man. There's just an eery feeling to the movie that disturbs you, yet you can't look away. I'd recommend this to anyone really. And the sequel is good too. Can't wait for the 3rd one coming out in 2021.

Utter trash
18 December 2020
Utter crap. Would rank lower if I could. Terrible acting and looks like they used chocolate syrup as blood. And there's no real plot. The killings are gruesome and nasty. Overall not really fun to watch and worse than your typical bad movies. Take my advice and don't watch, much better holiday horror movies out there.

Turkey Lurkey
18 December 2020
This movie knows how bad it is, and that's what makes it so hilarious to watch. Terrible acting and just an awful idea, but you can't look away. How does an adult confuse a turkey for their father?! What did the opening have to deal with the entire film? Why does a turkey feel the need to kill so much? So many questions. You can definitely tell college students made this. But oddly enough, I'd watch again!

This film deserves coal for being bad
18 December 2020
Pretty disappointed in this movie, especially with Dee Wallace. I felt like this movie was jumbled and a little hard to follow at some points because characters were running all over the place. Pretty bloody, but poor acting. The whole abortion plot made me feel a little uncomfortable, but it seems like an original idea. Wish it went in a different direction. I wish Dee Wallace gave a better performance.

Love it!!
13 November 2020
What a fun movie!! Love the opening, it's goofy and surprisingly super bloody (as is the rest of the film). Vince Vaughn is great when he portrays Millie. Super funny but also pretty tense, and that's hard to do. Ending was kind of ehhhh but overall the movie was a great watch. And how the heck did a high school have a cryogenic freezer?! What's that nonsense!!

Not the weirdos we want
29 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Super disappointed. Little to no action. More like a teen drama than the original, which had more horror elements and was genuinely interesting. David Duchovny (love him) seemed disinterested in his role, like he was bored. And howwwww did Nancy have a kid if she's been in a psych ward for her remaining days?! Such a bad sequel. Wish it didn't exist. And the girls seem like middle schoolers.

Best FD entry
21 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Honestly this is one of the better FD movies. It features one of the cringiest deaths (gymnastics), and I personally think the bridge open would be the scariest to actually go through, with the height and water and everything. While a lot of the characters are not that likeable, the plot line is more interesting than past FD movies. Probably the most comical entry as well. Love the twist ending, didn't see it coming.

Spoiler alert

I just don't think the twist ending where Marie is the killer the entire time works for me. Like how is she in the same scenes with the driver? I know she's got mental issues and is schizophrenic but I'm still confused. Part user error and product error. Alexandre Aja has done better (hills have eyes and mirrors for example). But it's worth checking out.

Not a bad film
17 October 2020
Honestly not that bad. Familiar storyline but it feels a little new with it being set on Christmas Eve. Wes Bentley have his all, even though I learned he only took this role to buy drugs. But I didn't feel like turning it off at any point, so it's not terrible. Some moments unrealistic but that's movies for you.
