My Big Fat Independent Movie (2005)
Oh hell yes!
Frankly as an Indy film lover and guy who works with Indy filmmakers myself. I've seen most of or know enough about most of the films being ripped on here I have to say this is so dead on. Don't get me wrong I love Pulp Fiction, Swingers, Run Lola Run and all the rest (except The Good Girl which this film so burns so rightly) but yes this film rips each one of them a new one. And the rip on "The Good Girl" OMG I couldn't have done or said it better.
I know some people will see this film and lose their minds over the fact someone has the nerve to parody their sacred cows but yes someone did it and did it well. Even going after Momento and Amelie. By the way, the actress that parodied Amelie, she was great! The other actors were wonderful too. I can't say enough about how funny and in your face this movie was.
Stay Alive (2006)
I hope they make a sequel...
Been awhile since I gleefully enjoyed something like this. Watched it with the lights out. People complain about the lack of graphic violence but it didn't need it. This was an incredible amount of fun, especially as you wait for The Blood Coutess to get buckwild. The last scene is so much fun, but I won't say what happens. You'll know what going to happen but the fun is in waiting for it.
Really this is a by the book horror film in many ways but something about it makes it thrilling. I think it's the concept partially. In real life Elizabeth Bathory was truly bad news. She openly practiced witchcraft, killed a bunch of people and no one stopped her for a long time until a Lutherean priest stepped in pressed the issue, then a king ordered an investigation. Finally she was put on house arrest.
I think it adds something when real people are used in this way. I would have liked to see more escape action earlier on. Because this was PG-13 and lacked the gore some people desperately I think some fighting and narrow escapes could've been added. The ghost got their prey too easy. I like doors that open by themselves and stuff like that. Simple but scary. Would've like to see the Blood Countess herself cause more havok.
I loved the video game element but let's be real this was the ring all over again. Think about it: Person gets video/website/video game, they've either heard bad things about, know death/ evil is connected with said artifact or know you simply aren't supposed to have it (like this game) and finally with knowing you aren't supposed to watch/view/play said things, you get sucked into the evil world. I think I'd watch it again.

First, Last and Deposit (2000)
Giving it 10 out of 10 because...
I'm an action fan. I love high impact kicks punches and explosions. This movie had none of that and kept me enthralled with a great story and great acting. The film was shot on a 1 chip DV camera (I'm very familiar with DV shooting) and came off like you were watching some weird soap opera or reality show about a woman becoming homeless.
The acting was top notch. And what about that slimy ass landlord. I wanted to stomp a mud hole in his ass! It's one thing to watch good guys versus bad but I think when acting on the screen makes you want to take action it's good acting.

The Pornographer (1999)
Excellent film, I want it on DVD not that I'm thinking of it...
I have to admit I wasn't going to watch this film thinking it was another "Skinemax" softcore film (which I needed like I need a hole in the head) but after reading the storyline I decided to at least see what it was about. I'm glad I did. I am somewhat into film-making also (not porn) so anything about indie film-making grabs my attention.
I think if this film had been filled with nudity or exploitative (as it could've been) it would've lost me and I bet many others as viewers. (As one-sided as it was I liked "Breast Men" but I thought the naked breast between scene were simply there to sale an unneeded skin factor). This was a real story. If you like this you may like another film like it called "Diary of a Sex Addict". While not as good as this it really manages to keep you on the edge of your seat considering what happens to the main actor. Also it's shot in video which was great for the narrative although it tried to be a bit exploitive but managed to not really go there.
I know people who have been addicted to porn so watching this film (both of them actually) really spoke to me. Another funny thing is when enough people know you own a video camera, someone will always eventually ask you would be willing to make a porn film. Porn is a very powerful drug. I love the way DeGood looked at the camera when it came in the mail and the scene between DeGood and the lawyer. She really takes him to task about it, but the way the scene ended was great too because she didn't hate him she just thought what he was doing was really sleazy and broke it down to him. I also loved his reaction which was somewhat of shame but this was something he really wanted to do. Very well directed.
Another thing was watching him get his girls for the films. I had a laugh about it somewhat considering this is almost similar to how indie directors of non-porn films try to get actors. The most quiet of us can become Mr. Marketer when it comes to getting talent for a project. It's a great film and considering all the crap I've seen it's memorable.
The Art of War (2000)
Art of War is a great action film.
I too believe the film had a liberal message. As an action fan with conservative leanings I did notice the liberal slant but I could never say Snipes didn't deliver. I've seen this film several times and I have to say I did like it a lot. Before this film I never got to see Snipes do this style of action except in Blade. This beats out Passenger 57 and his other films easily. I think his Blade movies top this one but it is still on my favorites list. I just like to see Snipes kick butt. That's what I came for and that's what I got. I know some people hate this film but it's not bad at all. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to it actually but I doubt they'll make one.

Into the Sun (2005)
Honestly enjoyable Steven Segal flick.
Have to say, I saw it tonight. I love kungfucinema.com but I totally disagree. I loved everything about this film. I have one complaint that everyone has, not enough action. To see Segal doing what he used to do was so much fun. And I love sword fighting. I love chicks that do sword fight as well. Throw pretty Japanese girls and really mean villains into the mix and you've got a story.
What I liked here were the villains were really vile. Generally people whom you wanted to see get an ass kicking. I would love to see more fighting. I liked the fighting in "Today you Die" as well but I thought that movie was a tad bit goofy. Not a fan of Segal and guns. I love the hand to hand work and of course someone has to get thrown through a window, a Segal trademark. I want to see Segal do more of this kind of film. I can do without so much blood (not my bag) but I love the fights.

Find Me Guilty (2006)
Cassandra Hepburn is so freaking hot...
I'm a big Cassandra Hepburn fan. She's going to be in two more films "Hollywood Backlots" and in "Even Money". I'm glad to see her coming up. I hope this is a big success. Frankly I just want to see more of her in anything. She's got the makings of a great character actress.
For those that have seen this did she have a big part or was this just a quick scene or what was the deal? Did she get to interact with Vin at all? Let me ask you this though about Vin, did his face look totally weird with the make up and all? I mean from the commercials I've seen his face looks like he's wearing some kind of mask.
