The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Classic film!

I wanted to watch for a long time as it had good ratings and is Morgan Freeman's arguably his best performance. In this movie he plays the role of a prisoner inmate known as 'Red' and landed up in the Shawshank jail for murdering a person. Tim Robbins portrays an another falsely accused inmate known as Andry Dufresne. He had been convicted for murdering his wife but in reality he hadn't.

The movie meticulously shows Andy's life in prison life. There are many scenes which just stole my heart such as some phrases,etc. One may say it is a bit slow moving and lacks a coherent plot but nah, it was a well written plot. Well it is actually based on Stephen Hawking's novella 'Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption'. Towards the end of the film, Andy Dufresne escapes the Shawshank prison through sheer hard work. He had been chiseling through a well to make up a tunnel. Towards the end, 'Red' ( Morgan Freeman) is acquitted and meets up Andry Dufresne ( Tim Robbins ) . The cinematography is also good.

This movie is definitely one of the best movies ever made in the course of movie history. Man, the acting of Morgan Freeman is just too good.

The Flash (2014–2023)

Absolutely Amazing!

Initially, I had some loathing for the film but I managed to surpass it and I watched two or three episodes then watched all the episodes. Like others said the first couple of episodes were boring but as you keep on watching it becomes very thrilling and trust me you will absolutely love it and you won't feel like doing your household chores or anything.

Another thing I love about the film is character development. The divergence of feelings amongst them just adds up everything! Grant Gustin perfectly plays the role of Barry Allen and is one of my favorite characters. Acting of other actors were stupendous! Just watch The Flash :)

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Utterly disappointing film

I really had high hopes for the film but were shattered after seeing the film. It might be visually appealing to many people with the CGI otherwise the plot was just a shame. I expected a lot better from the crew of the film. The only shoutout which deserves were the acting of Ben Affleck as Batman. He just takes Batman to a whole new level yet he is somewhat equal to Christian Bale's batman.

Coming back to the plot, it is just too bad. In my view, just spoilt the reputation of Batman. I was never a fan of Superman, but yeah, he mangaged to pull off a good role.If you are a fanboy, you may like this movie because it is a battle between two great heroes.

So, if you want to see visually appealing scenes, you may go , otherwise, it's a complete waste of money you are spending.

Vacation (I) (2015)

Enjoyable Film

This is an amazing movie. True to the title, it is about a family known as the Griswolds, going on a vacation to Walley World. But 'disasters' take place during their drive to the Walley World.

The movie stars Ed Helms as as Rusty, Chrstina Applegate as Debbie ( Rusty's wife ) , Chevy Chase as Clark, Steele Stebbins as Kevin and Chris Hemsworth as Stone.

Ed Helms' acting was good. His acting,sarcasm, are good. Chrstina Applegate did a very good job in portraying as Debbie. From the beginning, she managed to keep everyone laughing. And the brothers in the film ( Chevy and Steele ) , are epic. They constantly fight with each for no apparent reason and love irritating each other. Chris Hemsworth's character was amazing.

So if you are intending to watch a movie with your family, here it is. Be cautioned, it has scenes which might not be suitable for certain age groups.

My rating: 8.5/10

The Theory of Everything (2014)

Beautiful Film

I loved this from the moment I started watching it. To be honest, I wasn't too keen on watching the film as I don't watch too many biographical films Nonetheless, I tried watching the film. And now it is one of my favorite films.

The cinematography was good. Director James Marsh did an excellent job. I thank the entire crew for pulling of such an amazing movie.

The acting by Eddie Redmayne is superb. From the beginning till the end, his acting was outstanding. Top notches to that !

Felicity Jones was amazing as usual. She portrayed the character of Jane Wilde who is Stephen Hawking's wife .

As the film progresses, it just makes the audience feel more sympathetic about Stephen Hawking. He endured so many difficult challenges and yet he made such significant theories. The audience were stuck with melancholy at the end of the film. This is a must- watch film for all.

The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Classic Langdon Movie

'The Da Vinci Code ' just like the book by Dan Brown is truly a perplexing film which will keep the audience struck with bewilderment and keeps them guessing right till the end.

Starting the classic Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon and Sir Ian Mckellen as Teabing, will surely keep the bats in the cave !

Tom Hanks' acting is just dazzling. He played his part of Robert Langdon so beautifully ! His humor, I must say is the best !

Do I need to say anything about the legend Sir Ian Mckellen's wonderful acting ? I think not !

Hats off to the director Ron Howard for directing such an amazing movie who is arguably one of the best directors of the century.

The twist at the end is quite unexpected. I highly suggest you to read the book first and then watch the movie. You will surely love the film if you have read the book.

Terminator Genisys (2015)

A Great Reboot

I was surprised when I got to know there was a reboot of the Terminator Franchise. I expected the film to be a failure, since it was a reboot Alas, I was wrong ! The movie lived up to my expectations.

The Graphics in the movie were up to the mark. Arnold Schwarzenegger was just amazing ! His sturdy look, well built body was just the characteristics you need for a Terminator. His acting was very good. His sarcasm is so good that , lol, no one can argue with him.

Emily Clarke did a very good job in portraying Sarah O Conner.

Jai Courtney who played as Kyle Reese acted pretty good.

And even other actors in the cast acted pretty good.

So, this movie will truly amaze you. The excitement,actions, suspense and last but not the least Arnold Schwarzenegger will stupefy you !

The Martian (2015)

Stupendous Film

I was excited when I got to hear that there was a new film going to come up , titled as ' The Martian ' . I felt it might be somewhat similar to 'Interstellar'. Ironically Matt Damon was the lead actor, who was previously there in the movies, " The Interstellar " and "Saving Private Ryan" . Nonetheless, he is an extremely talented actor.

True to the title, it is about a space crew of Ares III going to the deserted red planet, Mars and about their expeditions up there. Once there was a Mars storm and a piece of debris hit a crew member, Mark Watney (Matt Damon) , and he was presumed dead by the other crew members and they left him stranded there in Mars. Days later, NASA finds out that he is alive. Rest was breathtaking. It shows how Mark tries inhibiting the planet . Instance, he tries growing potatoes out of human faeces.

The film was filled with humor. The audience laughed very well. The director,Ridley Scott did a very good job.

If you are expecting a kind of film like ' The Interstellar ' , here is the film. Believe me, you will love this film. Enjoy watching the film, if you are intending to !

Mr. Holmes (2015)

Spelndid Movie

A splendid movie, indeed it is . It is about Mr.Sherlock Holmes revisiting his last case and yet his memory forbids him to remember properly.

A very well scripted film it is. Director Bill Condon did a very good job in it. Top notches to Sir Ian Mckellen for his outstanding,witty,humorous acting ! No one else can play this role of Sherlock Holmes better than him. Milo Parker, a promising child actor, did a fairly good job in portraying as Roger and Laura Linney poses as his mother.The scenery was beautiful though.

I was under the impression the film will not be a great film. On the contrary, it was great. I would suggest the audience to thoroughly understand the plot of the film. It wouldn't be like Robert Downey's Sherlock or Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, rather it a bit slow- paced . Yet, it managed to keep me filled with suspense and yes, humor6 !

Castle (2009–2016)

One of the best of it's Genre

Castle is a sharp-witted, humorous and mightily an awesome person ! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Castle is the show you need to watch at this moment.

Starring Nathon Fillion as Castle, Stana Katic as Kate Beckett is the duo what you need. Always packed with humor, suspense , romance and whatnot.From the very first season, it managed to keep the audience struck with amazement. The actors' acting are too just good. I never felt bored with any episode and I love the character development. As we move on to the other seasons, Castle just keeps on getting better. You simply cannot argue with him. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is quite romantic .

I feel this show deserves more viewers. I hope they renew for many more seasons.

Verdict: If you're looking for a person like Sherlock or Poirot ( yes ) , here's the man !Do watch it.

The Walk (II) (2015)

A Movie to be watched

I was in high expectations for watching this movie. And yes, I liked the movie very much. It is basically about a man named Phileppe attempting to walk on a wire between the Twin Towers. It is based upon an actual life event. To be more specific , from the book ' Reaching The Sky '

I loved Joseph Gordon-Levitt's acting. He also had to ' fake ' the French accent. It was quite convincing . Hats off to his ' Accent Acting ' . His sense of humor was quite sarcastic . The suspenseful events managed to keep everyone on their feet.

Towards the end, things turned quite drastic and kept the audience clinched. The IMAX 3D Effect was superb ! I also felt that sometimes, the scriptwriters had dragged the story here and there. Nonetheless, they did a very good job. Director was good too.

Verdict : It's a very enthralling film. If you're planning to watch a movie with your family or friends, this is definitely a movie to be watched . Keep in mind, this stunt has actually been performed by an actual person.

Gotham (2014–2019)

Nygma-Stic

Gotham is basically about how Jim Gordan along with his accomplices solve homicide crimes, etc. If you think it's about Batman, you're wrong.

I was skeptical to watch this show, as I thought since Batman would not be there, it'll be boring. Well, I found it later I was so wrong. So Wrong. It got me hooked on.

I watched a couple of episodes and it wasn't too bad. I started watching more episodes, then I loved it. You really don't need Batman actually. Many villains come such as the Penguin, etc are there in the show . Penguin is portrayed by Robin Taylor ( Oswald Cobblepot ) . He surely deserves an Emmy for his acting. I also loved the acting of Cory Michael Smith ( Edward Nygma ) . He's bit a weird though, with all his strange riddles. Nonetheless, he is great. Ben Meckenzie did a good job in portraying Jim Gordon . I think the acting of Jada Smith was a bit too much. Sometimes it was just too bad but at times it was good.

Well, I must say Gotham is a very promising show. I simply LOVE it. I hope they also renew for many more seasons. Again, I would suggest you to watch at least the first three episodes.

Scorpion (2014–2018)

Love this show

This show is very much criticized . I understand there are a lot of ' fake ' scenes. But as the show progresses , it gets better ! For some apparent reason, I just love this show ! This show is basically about a prodigy named ' Walter O Brian ' who is good at hacking/computer stuff. When he becomes an adult, he forms a team called ' Scorpion ' which helps the law enforcement agencies. I love the character development. There is no flaw in any actor's acting. Every actor played their part well. So, if you are looking for a show where there a lot of tech-ky/Science- things, well, this is the show for you ! Trust me, just watch at least 3-4 episodes and you'll love it !

The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)

A show which is well scripted

At first, I thought ' The Big Bang Theory ' was no more than an ordinary show. But no, I was wrong ! I just watched one episode of some season of The Big Ban Theory and wow I loved it. Then I started watching from Season 1 and watched all the seasons. It's always humorous :) Now as for Season 9, it's good. The first two episodes weren't that great ! The third episode was good , though. I guess BBT is slowly losing it's them. Nevertheless, I hope the directors do something about it. I'm sure they can ! Now as for the actors, THEY ARE THE BEST. Especially Sheldon's character who is portrayed by Jim Parsons. Oh My God, he is just the best. There's no one like him who can act in such a lucid way ! And the others are good too ! So if want to watch a comedy show that'll make you laugh till you die ( exaggeration, :D ) , watch this !

Modern Family (2009–2020)

The best sitcom ever !:)

I love Modern Family. At first, I was a bit reluctant to watch it. But I saw the entire season 1. And mind you, I LOVED IT ! Slowly by Slowly , I started watching Season 2,3,4,5,6 . And it's still amazing ! The character development is great. Actors are just too good. Characters like Phil ( portrayed by Ty Burrel ) , Gloria ( portrayed by Sofia Vergera ) ,etc. will make you laugh till you die. xD Morever, this show is appropriate for all age groups. And now Season 7 has premiered. And mind you, I love it. So I recommend you to watch this sitcom. You will not regret watching it. Watch it with your friends, family, colleagues, etc. :) :)

Fresh Off the Boat (2015–2020)

A good show ! :)

Let me start off by saying that, I was not too keen on watching the TV show because it had less numbers of viewers as compared to other TV shows. Still, I gave it a shot

I had seen the trailer on Youtube. And I really liked it .

Then I tried watching the episodes. But still, the pilot wasn't too impressive.Anyways, I started watching the other episodes and wow, I started liking it. This show might not be appealing to users who expect a comedy show like Big Bang Theory. It has it's fun it's own way.

By the way I would also like to mention, this show is based on the memoirs of Eddie Huang.

The actors did a very good job in portraying their characters. Hudson Yang who plays as Eddie Huang who is the main character is quite good. Great kid actor. And the actor who plays as his dad (Randall park ) is quite good too.Apparently,he is the same actor who played as Kim-Jong Un in ' The Interview ' .

At the last , I would say that this show is good. I hope this show gets renewed for a third season . Again, I would suggest you to watch the first 3 or 4 episodes. And trust me, you might get hooked onto it.
