Inside the Tower of London (2018)
Grimdark, Non-fic
Excellent series. The stories are dark and fascinating. The dramatizations are well acted and the narration is delivered full of detail. The eerie soundtrack is perfect, capturing the grim atmosphere and fate of the tower's victims. Awesome series.
Murimgori (1982)
To hell with the plot. This movie is FUN!
The voice actors are trolling their asses off and its insanely funny. Action packed (there's a great , high-quality fight every 3 minutes), great choreography, great old fashion Kung-fu mayhem. Get your freinds, get your intoxicants and just chill. This movie is made for week-ends. I loved it.
La trinchera infinita (2019)
Goes on forever
Long, drawn out scenes, repetitive themes...Not enough interesting developments. Could have been wrapped up in a hour and 1/2 runtime. Boring!
Sanatorium pod Klepsydra (1973)
Watching an actual hourglass would be a more interesting waste of time
Artsy-fartsy absurdist drivel. Struggled to finish it and regretted doing so afterwards. Utter crap!
The River Thief (2016)
Charming but forgettable
It was not bad when viewed as a Sunday matinee with my YA nephew and niece. Bas Rutten was a great villain as always and overall it was pretty competent acting on display. I liked the soundtrack as well. Its worth a view if it just happens to show up on your tv screen as long as you don't go into expecting anything else other than a decent Hallmark family feature.
De behandeling (2014)
Movie seemed to be longer than it actually was
Tedious, repetitive and exhausting. Felt more like a drama than a detective crime thriller. It could've been wrapped up in a 45 minute episode. A lot of unnecessary imagery that may have well been left to ones imagination (like those those tapes, how did they even make those)? I fast-forwarded through most of these redundancies (yeah it's a real pisser) and the movie still seemed too long. The movie is just a dumpster of despair.
Mooseowon Iyagi 3: Hwasungeseo on Sonyeo (2016)
Better than what I expected
An Analogy of horror tales stemming from a core story that involves a young (and charming) space traveler who docks upon an extraterrestrial space craft whose inhabitants are hostile to the human race. The stories were interesting enough to keep my attention and mostly avoided redundant tropes. Give it a shot if you like horror anthologies. Its well worth a play but I doubt If I'll remember ever watching it after posting this review.
Existence (2012)
It shouldn't exsist
Utter melodramatic crap. I gave it one star because it finally ended.
Death of a Snowman (1976)
Great Grindhouse film that deserves a better rating than that given by general consensus
Don't let the trailer mislead you. It's has nothing to do with the movie besides the clips. It's NOT Blacksploitation (and the immorals behind the trailer needed to be meleed for using racism as a vehicle to promote the film). What it is, is a gritty, South African crime noir tale complete with flawed heroes, formidable foes and well done brutal action sequences. My only gripe is the sound editing, where in one particular scene the dialogue was barely audible but I switched on the subs and kept on rocking. It in no way makes the film unwatchable, but still, you got to get that isht right! Fast paced, good plot, awesome action, no sex, just a great Friday and friends movie that I enjoyed watching and will view again soon.
Midnight Eye: Gokû (1989)
I could never find this title at Suncoast *sigh*
Fast paced , great action, descent writing, cool Hard Boiled plot and a main protagonist with an eye for everything...Except fashion. Great old school Blue Anime. I loved it!
Messenger of Wrath (2017)
I enjoyed it!
Fun movie, though a bit messy. Could've benefited from some major editing and reduced run-time. I enjoyed the cast and the mysterious killer was ultra-cool. Nice choreography during the final showdown as well. In all, I'd say it's an enjoyable movie considering it's almost non-existent budget.
