Probably the best of the Futurama movies.
13 February 2009
Indeed, Not only is it (In my honest opinion) the best of the Futurama movies, but one of the best animated Movies I've seen these past couple of years.

This one truly has everything a die hard Futurama Fan could ever hope for, everything about it is superb, the jokes (especially the really awesome Bender one-liners we all love), the music, the animation, everything. a true Futurama Classic. And unlike previous Futurama Movies, The plot is pretty ludicrous and fresh, and more importantly, solid. and it keeps you watching and anticipating from start to finish.

This movie really sums up the great elements that made Futurama what it is, and it goes to show that Canceling the TV Series was a big mistake.

One of the best comedies in the past couple of years.
15 June 2008
First off, this movie is not for minors, so if you have minors around, or if you are a minor, don't watch it.

Having said that, The onion movie revolved primarily around stereotyping through a string of satirical skits and fake news that involve Blacks, Whites, Arabs, Pop musicians, Steven Segal and other things that I cannot mention here. in a typical good old classic onion style, this movie delivers it all seamlessly and beautifully. and even though this movie isn't likely to win any Oscars, it will most definitely make you laugh your ass off.

And even though there is no real plot or a steady story line, it does not fail to keep you entertained throughout the whole movie. that is of course if you are not that type of person that could get easily offended. for its biting satire can get a bit harsh, i personally found it to be hard hitting and straight to the point, in a cleverly woven hilarious way.

It is a shame The Onion Movie went straight to DVD and wasn't released in theaters, it is definitely one of the funniest movies in the past couple of years, and deserves more exposure.

Stardust (2007)

Enchantingly Magnificent
3 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished watching this movie, and i want to watch it all over again. Stardust, to put it into a few words, is one of the best movies to come out in 2007, if not the THE Best, and I can safely say that next to Lord of the Rings, its quite possibly the most spectacular fantasy movie I have ever seen. it has all the makings of a classic, and is surely destined to be one. The settings and scenery are lush and beautiful. The effects are seamless and spectacular. The score by Ilan Eshkeri is dramatic. Narration by Ian McKellen is compelling. And the casting is exceptional, from Robert De Niro as the delightful sky pirate Captain Shakespeare to Pfeiffer as the sumptuously evil witch to the absolutely radiant Claire Daines as Yvaine.

The story revolves around a star that tumbles to earth as a result of the aforementioned family feud, assuming human form in the likeness of Claire Danes, who certainly does have the right sort of luminosity to pull off the role. Soon it's open season on Yvaine, for that is the name of the star, with Tristan (Charlie Cox) seeking a gift for the girl he loves, Lamia the witch (Michelle Pfeiffer) out to gather some heart of star beauty treatments, and the last (but not least) prince seeking his kingdom.

Packed with excitement, magic, comedy and romance, as well as morbid humor, lots of murder (without blood or gore) and Robert DeNiro as you've never seen him before, you won't even notice that you've been glued to your seat for over two hours.

I simply cannot describe how much I enjoyed this movie, its simply flawless, It's combined elements of humor, action, fantasy, and surprise, make it a must see movie for the whole family. If you have not seen this movie yet, you're missing on a great deal. not only you definitely must watch it, but the DVD is a must buy.

It Just Won't Stay Dead!
23 November 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I just finished watching the first Futurama movie, Futurama: Bender's Big Score, And it was a breath of fresh air, Although I have to admit that from a die-hard Futurama fan's point of view, I was expecting more, Now, don't get me wrong, it was very good in all aspects, and very much enjoyable, and i LOVED it. but I just felt that perhaps it could have been more awesome.

Plot Summary: When the evil naked aliens launch a cyber-attack on Planet Express, they make a shocking discovery: the secret of time travel, mysteriously tattooed on Fry's buttocks. Using their devious nudist software to control Bender, they repeatedly send the beer-fueled robot back in time to loot Earth of its greatest treasures. Bender's rampage through history has shocking repercussions when he encounters Al Gore (guest-starring as himself) during the 2000 Presidential recount. Meanwhile, Leela finds true love, a beloved crew member suffers an embarrassing decapitation, and Fry learns deep secrets about his destiny and his buttocks.

The movie is as expected, hilarious. The jokes are fast and furious. Expect the classic Futurama experience — visual gags, great one-liners, and a ludicrous plot. and even though the plot may seem a bit latticed at first, it all falls into place beautifully. However, if you really want to enjoy the full experience of the movie, you should at least have watched at least a few TV episodes since the movie does contain many in-jokes and call backs, However if you are a newcomer to the Futurama universe, fear not, You'll be brought up to date with the characters in no time.

Overall, I was pleased, the movie has it all, witty humor, strong fast jokes, drama and romance, and of course, the kind of sci-fi action that a geek would enjoy , and compared to the Simpsons and Family guy movies, this is without a doubt the best movie of all.

The Simpsons Movie is worth 6 chuckles.
9 August 2007
Six chuckles, thats how much I enjoyed this movie. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big Simpsons fan, always has been, always will be, however I was not too impressed with the Simpsons movie, i found it to be moderate at best and does not compare to the TV shows, not the really funny classic episodes at least, it was like a moderate episode stretched 90 minutes. sure there were a few funny moments but i wouldn't at all call it hilarious and it sure wasn't worth the wait or the hype.

First off, the plot was weak and not worthy of a 90 minute movie, it could have been easily fitted into a single episode, and the subplots are just slapstick repeats of old jokes (ie: Bart and Homer, Bart and Marge, Bart and Flanders). The supporting characters were practically non-existent, and the ones that did appear had really shallow lines except for a couple of funny lines from Flanders and Ralph, but thats about it. and well, the intro just sucked, the itchy and scratchy bit was out of place didn't really integrate well into the movie. as for the overall humor quality, well, it was average and disappointing, It contains no thoughtful parody and only very trite satire. Many of the gags are childish. Slapstick humor cannot carry a prime time television show, much less a full length feature film. It contains no complex subtext, no (intelligent) obscure references, no hilarious musical numbers and no intricate visual humor. Many jokes are recycled from older episodes yet are very crudely put together.

I know this isn't the best review of a movie you'll ever read, it sure isn't the best I've ever written, but I guess its just hard for me to critique the show i love so much so hard, and i was trying to be nice with everything i said above, and i'm sorry to report that the movie isn't really worth the theater ticket, but then again, watching it at the theater might be the best way to get you to laugh during this film.

Simply Incredible.
4 June 2007
As fine as drama can get, this movie is will stir your emotions and senses in a way that is truly magnificent. it is without a doubt one of the best dramas I've seen in a quite a while.

The director Milos Forman has weaved the elements of this movie in a flawless masterpiece. each and every part of this movie fits in place perfectly, the casting is excellent and the acting is brilliant from all actors without exception. the choice of music is fascinating and very fitting, and the cinematography is just perfect, and the scenario and storyline is seamless and exciting as much as it dramatic. i honestly cannot think of anything that is lacking in this film.

If you want to watch a movie that is an ideal drama, i highly recommend you watch this one.

Epic Movie (2007)

An abomination
31 May 2007
If i can describe this movie with one word, it would be classic, classic disaster that is.

This movie is as bad as they get, simple as that, throughout the move i managed to force a couples of chuckles out but thats about it. the dialog is cheesy and the jokes are really corny. supposedly this movie makes fun of a variety of movies however in trying to do so it failed miserably. i really can't imagine how would anybody in his right mind find this movie remotely funny.

seriously folks, you do not want to watch this movie, in my opinion this movie is an insult to the comedy genre. its delivers absolutely nothing and is not worth the time wasted watching it. i really and honestly can't think of anything good element in this film. none.

A Magnificent Masterpiece!
26 January 2007
This is by far one of the best Jet Li movies, if not his best movie ever, and even though this is mainly a Kung Fu movie, it wasn't the Kung Fu that kept my eyes glued to the screen throughout the period of the film, Sure, the Kung fu scenes are really good and very well choreographed, planned and executed in a precise manner that is just excellent, but aside from that this is a great story that has all the elements of success built into it, This movie is about honor and self control, and what really matters in life.

What really makes this movie a breath taking experience is the brilliant interaction between the characters, the deep drama, the human factor and the flawless direction, the scenery and locations were simply perfect and the integration of the score and music into the scenes was first class.

Personally, I wasn't expecting much before watching this film, i thought to myself it was just another Kung Fu movie, but boy was i wrong, this is by far one of the best movies of 2006 and a definite must watch, a truly terrific and pleasurable viewing experience.
