Such a great show
Disclaimer: This show has strong female and minority lead characters which makes it subject to the usual ratings bombs by bigots. Ignore them.
What if... Conan the Barbarian was Daredevil? This show is beautiful, deep, fulfilling and full of amazing fight scenes that you would not believe possible between unsighted characters. It's an acting masterpiece by so many not the least of which is Jason Mamoa. I never would have believed he could show this much expert skill in his trade but he pulls it off brilliantly. His speech near the end of the series will make you want to roar, cry and join him in battle. The fact that he was not even nominated for his work in this series is criminal.
Andor (2022)
Some of the best Star Wars in existence
I suspected this was just a Disney cash grab when they first announced it. After all, why would I want the back story of a dead character from a Star Wars spin off?
Boy, was I wrong.
This is good. Like original trilogy good. It's the most human Star Wars story to date. Really skillfully story driven. Extremely well acted and directed. Every episode takes you deeper into the this universe. By the the time you're half way through the season you already know more about the Rebel Alliance than you thought you could or would want to learn.
This is the kind of Star Wars show that we've needed for a long time. Remember that it may take a few episodes to get it all set up so have a little patience and you won't be disappointed.
Vampire Academy (2022)
It's really good!
This show is fun, deep, engaging, exciting, and engrossing. You should watch it! It's quite entertaining. Seriously, don't miss out on this especially if you were Vampire Diaries or Originals fan.
Also there are book purists who think it should be more like the books. So it can lose money like the 2014 movie did. We don't need that again. Let's just enjoy the creativity and the story telling of the great team of Marguerite MacIntyre and Julie Plec at their finest!
Note: Remember that you ALWAYS have to give ratings a 3-4 point margin for review bombs if there are prominent Black, female or LGBTQIA characters. This show, like the real world has all three.
They/Them (2022)
This movie is "transgenre"
Don't expect a slasher. It's not. Or a thriller/horror movie. With elements of many genres It doesn't fit into any. It's identity affirming, kinda scary, kinda funny, kinda campy and kinda silly sometimes. It is also entertaining. It's not going to to win any awards but how many movies do? Don't come in with expectations or prejudices and you'll probably enjoy it.
Tales of the Walking Dead: Blair/Gina (2022)
Wrong universe folks
This story does not belong in TWD in any way. It's entirely based on never before seen elements of other sci-fi genres that have no basis and no precedence in TWD. TWD universe elements more or less shoehorned in here and there to try to make it seem like it has some vague reason to fit in this series. It doesn't work. It's universe and lore breaking. Just skip this one.
Tom Swift (2022)
Campy techie fun! (Ignore the racist homophobes)
First of all, this is a CW show so plan on it being a little campy. This is a good show with an interesting cast. Will it win any emmys? Doubtful. But neither will Walker, Nancy Drew, Legacies or any of the abundance of DC shows on the CW. Fun plotlines, good character development and good actors. Just good TV.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: The Serene Squall (2022)
Ignore the transphobes, best episode yet!
Great episode with lots of character development and plot twists. Best villain we've seen in a Trek series since TNG. Jesse James Keitel turns in her usual fantastic performance. (Big Sky, Queer as Folk 2022) This episode gives us more depth than we've seen in the show so far. Must watch!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Great movie!
Trumpsters: Don't go see this. You won't understand it. You won't like it. Stay home and watch Roadhouse again.
Everyone else: Go see this soon and often! It's definitely a gem that does a lot of great things it really smooth and classic ways. Sam Raimi at his absolute best. One of the best superhero movies to date!
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
The Matrix still knows Kung Fu
Please ignore the haters. This movie was excellent. Perfect for the Matrix franchise and perfect for our times.
The cinematography was beautiful, the story was heartfelt and believable. Lana Wachowski went back to the well and found gold.
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Dangerously unfunny.
So, when you're no longer comedic enough to pay the bills with comedy, you sell LGBTQ+ slurs and hatred for a living? How many times has he done this? Netflix keeps paying him?
It shouldn't be this hard for the "GOAT" to come up with material that doesn't endanger other people's lives. Dave you know kids watch this stuff, right? I know they aren't supposed to, but they do. Or their friends do. His cheap jabs at an at risk community translate to REAL danger for vulnerable people.
Not funny, Dave.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
Fantastic movie!!
No spoilers! I've seen every episode of the series. This movie is perfect. Please don't listen to the idiot trolls posting hate.
The Conners (2018)
Ignore the trolls on the right, this show is golden!
I watched every episode of Roseanne. This show is superior in essentially every respect. It has more heart, more talent, more guts and far less ugly dark humor at other people's expense. It can be funny and touch on serious issues without mocking entire other groups of people. If Roseanne had been this good originally it never would have gone off the air.
Coming 2 America (2021)
Coming 2 America is a lot of fun!
Seeing the old cast and the new additions was a great experience. A lot of nostalgia and a lot of laughs. Sadly, like a lot of current movies that feature female empowerment, it's being attacked by toxic masculinity. Try to ignore those reviews and judge for yourself!
