Get Ready for the Ride
24 August 2023
When I heard they were making another Star Trek cartoon, I was almost unable to control my eye rolls. Every previous attempt at this aspect of Star Trek has failed miserably and completely. I decided to try it as I read some of the reviews and was so glad I did. This show is hilarious. Their comedic take on Star Trek tropes is dynamic, flowing, and superbly written. My wife had to tell me to stop laughing so loud as she was trying to sleep in the other room. The characters are well-thought out, the dialogue is genuine and exactly what a Star Trek character would say, and the storylines pull you along and keep you entertained. Very funny and rewarding. Great show all around.

Another Star Trek Failure
17 August 2023
I found the first season to be fairly entertaining but soon after in the second season so much emphasis was placed on making a political statement and not on creating a quality and entertaining actual Star Trek series that I lost almost all interest in the show. It actually becoming boring and I had to force myself through one too many episode to actually enjoy myself. The dialogue was stale and unenlightening. The portrayals of the characters were trite and very unconvincing. I soon stopped even wanting to see certain characters appear on the screen. The storylines were so uninspiring and meandering that more interesting things happen at a McDonalds every Friday night. If you want a more true, loyal, and really entertaining version of Star Trek, view Star Trek Strange New Worlds.

Excellent New Star Trek Adventure
16 August 2023
I was very skeptical with this new series after the many series failures preceding it by Paramount. I am very happy to say this new iteration is superb. The characters are well defined with realistic Star Trek identities and feel to them. The return to the episodic nature of Star Trek also is enduring and works very well. The dialogue is articulate and very compelling. It flows and engenders a sense of excitement and anticipation. The storylines are also well thought out and intriguing. I enjoyed every episode and was looking forward to the next one as soon as it was released. There is very little of trying to force a certain political view or belief on you and more of just presenting a great story. Once again, excellent show.

More Amazing Literature Destroyed by Disney
27 April 2023
I cannot understand why Disney is compelled to take amazing and wonderful classical stories and demolish them with horrible acting, atrocious dialogue, and incomprehensible plot lines. One has to accept that transitioning from the written word to cinema means aspects of the original must be changed. I can barely recognize the story Disney presents and the cherished story I read in my youth. The only thing Disney left intact was the title. The plot cannot be followed. The actor's betrayal of the wonderful characters are boring and unconvincing in any manner. I have heard more interesting dialogue at a Taco Bell on a Friday night than this film- and been more rewarded for my time also. I cannot even see anything redeemable for any experience with the cinematic wreckage. Just sad.

Wonderful and Quirky New Series
23 March 2023
Wow Netflix really did this series right. Delightful and funny throughout every episode. The dialogue was fresh, so inventive, and captivating. They did not rely solely on the old material to move the story along and kept enough to make it enjoyable for those who remember the old series. The cinematography was classical Tim Burton and completely conducive to the storyline. The plot flowed and never dragged or allowed your mind to wonder away from the direction the writers and director wanted you to follow. Some nice twists to old characters and very good detail to a new world in which the story can grow and I can even see several possible spinoffs that will be also delightsome. Wonderful job Netflix.

What Series Am I Watching? Not the Wheel of Time
23 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. I have difficulty even knowing where to begin with this monstrosity of excrement from a beloved and well thought out literature epic. From the very beginning it absolutely deviates from any storyline in the written series. I understand there must be some creative licensure with transitioning from literature to cinema, but holy cow, I cannot even recognize large portions of this series when viewed from the reader's perspective. Aes Sedai that are gay? Perrin kills his wife? Everyone is sleeping with everyone. The main characters were barely adolescents in the books. I will admit that if I did not know the series so well, this would be a mildly mediocre series to watch, but I do know what it could have been if done correctly. So sad.

Good but not Great, even Boring at Times
23 February 2023
I was very excited to see that Amazon had acquired the rights to this period of time in the series, between the second and third age, and the endless possibilities that could happen. I am an ardent fan of J. R. R. Tolkien and his writings but also am a pragmatist that video rarely truly captures the essence of the literature it is portraying. So I was only mildly disappointed by this series when I started it. It is fairly boring. The storyline does not flow well, the dialogue is mediocre if not outright trite at times, and the actors are stiff and non-persuasive in their deliveries. I am hoping for a better second season now that the preliminaries have been done. Still enjoyable to watch.

Great Family Interactions
22 February 2023
Man with a Plan is a sitcom that is able to provide mostly good clean comedy and project strong family values while still being very entertaining. My family and I enjoyed watching every season and were truly saddened when it was cancelled. It is in no way Emmy quality but every episode was very compelling and the dialogue was very witty and just plain funny. I looked forward to each new season and my expectations were always fulfilled. Matt LeBlanc's character, Adam Burns, interplay with Kevin Nealon's character (on screen brothers), Don Burns, was wonderful and so often relatable to real life brothers. Highly enjoyable TV.

Very Poor Writing and Acting
21 February 2023
I was saddened by how they allowed this show to devolve into a political statement. Content is very poorly written. Acting (voice overs) is even worse. It seems they tried to resort to very one-sided political views to gloss over boring storylines, not funny scenes, and overall (again) very poor content. Please just entertain us with good writing and good humor. Characters appear shallow and generic in so many ways. It is hard not to compare it to the previous iteration which was flowing and so humorous. It just carried you along and made your day better. This version is so filled with meandering dialogue and incomprehensible plots that I feel lost and bored after watching it. In conclusion, very sad.

Horrible All Around
27 June 2021
Horrible storyline, horrible acting, horribly political. I pay for entertainment not to see someone else's political views.
