Jinn (2019)
Unbelievably BAD
All the bad reviews and the series is even worse than you can imagine.the plot is silly, predictable, and naive..Direction is a joke and worst of all is acting.kids in school plays would have done much much better.
Downton Abbey (2010)
The best TV show for me ..ever
I have never committed myself into a TV series like I did with Downton Abbey. although in many aspects it is a Soap Opera, but a very good soap is used, the stories inside reflect the changes that took place after the world war I in an informative and engaging way, there is no one character in the long list of the cast who wasn't presented in a human, very touching way. the conversation is excellent. and MAGGIE SMITH....GOD....MAGGIE SMITH...She is beyond words,..the strength of the character and how she played it is something that should be taught in Drama schools. Daisy, the cook girl, was another great role. very touching.
The Meddler (2015)
Susan and Rose,,,who wants more?
my expectations from a Susan Sarandon movie are high. the movie was not a disappointment at all..I enjoyed it a lot and so did my wife, Susan Sarandon was great, Rose Byrne- who I like a lot too- did not have enough space with Susan but did great in what was left for her the story is somehow predictable, a lonely widow who meddles in her daughter messed life with all the expected funny and -not so funny- situations ..but the smart deep lines embedded make the fabric of the story much deeper and much more fun to watch. there might be some exaggerations in some parts ( like whats her name wedding) but all presented in accepetable. in one particular scene, Susan tops herself...she is sitting with her late husband brothers..and she mentions that it has been a year since he passed, they are all puzzled..you mean two years...she corrects herself at once ( I meant one year since last year) then her face shows the fact the time is not passing for her.
Bilal: A New Breed of Hero (2015)
not a Toy Story,,but a very Human story
This is not a Hollywood Animated movie, so no need to put it with Toy Story and judge. it is different but in a good way.the artistic texture of the movie is impressive, and yet so (Un-Hollywood) if I might say. each scene is done as it was a classic drawing, a visual joy( the battle scene is simply a cinematic epic. the conversation is very strong and at times it lands on poetry borders. the music is masterpiece, so reflective of the main essence of the movie: the search for freedom. the characters are presented in a clever way, even the villain has his own reasons,no black and white melodrama like most animated hero movies, and the hero was pushed to be a hero, they gave him no other option but to be one. isn't this what happens in real world? in short, Bilal is about a slave who was freed by his faith, and this turns to be much more for him - and for others- than just removing the visible chains..but also about the invisible hidden chains that lie inside and make people their own enemy. Bilal, a NEW breed of hero..and a different kind of movie.
