The Voyeurs (2021)
What Could Have Been...
A film that, to a certain extent, gave you a sense of imparting a lesson. There are certain things we shouldn't meddle with, like people's lives. It would have been fine if the movie had ended when Thomas died. A bitter and dark lesson about the consequences of getting involved in others' lives. After all, every action has repercussions, like when they made us believe Julia had died... but...They decided to introduce a plot twist that doesn't feel very climactic. However, that's not all; there's another plot twist where Pippa conveniently has access to tools she uses to teach the antagonists a lesson. A plot twist that doesn't feel like one. An idea poorly executed, making this movie quite mediocre.
The Pope's Exorcist (2023)
Not what i expected
"The Pope Exorcist is undeniably a generic movie. While I can't recall seeing multiple possessions depicted simultaneously since The Exorcist Believer, which was also lackluster and seemed like a quick cash grab, it's disappointing to find a similar approach in this film, especially given that they were released in the same year. Many clichéd scenes in possession movies have already been explored by this point, making it challenging to expect something innovative from this narrative. The movie falls into the pitfalls of predictability. However, the acting performances of Russell Crowe and Peter DeSouza (the possessed kid) manage to shine through. Their portrayals do not disappoint, bringing a level of credibility to an otherwise formulaic storyline. On the downside, the makeup and special effects leave much to be desired, diminishing the overall viewing experience. Despite this, the exceptional performances by Crowe and DeSouza remain the film's redeeming qualities, making it watchable for those who appreciate strong acting in the midst of a mediocre storyline."
Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020)
It gets better with time , a lot of time !!!!
I'm not really into teenage drama but I decided to give it a chance. Let me tell you.
It gets better with time & all the "teenage drama " goes to a 2nd place .
I'm telling it takes time to get there , if you are not into this series by the 4th episode you better stop watching.
Goedam (2020)
Disappointed
I remember growing up watching asian horror movies , tales of terror from Tokyo vol 1-3, tales of terror, tales of the unusual, any kind of festival or short movie that I could found on the not very legal side of the internet, etc etc , but it seems that those days are over . Did Asian culture already lost their original essence? Did we got more tolerant and lose all sympathy? Or probably they always made bad horror movies but we didn't see it.
Whatever it is the reason " they don't make it like that anymore" I guess I'll stick to my old DVDs that I used to burn back in the old days from 2006 when we could get decent horror movies from Asia, which btw I have seen a thousand times over the pass of 10+ years , hope we could get something like that someday.
