Want to see some examples of great, recent (our generation) movies? Look at the obvious ones - Breakfast Club is a fine example. More recent? Look at Everything Will Be Fine. Thee are movies with some depth.
I'm a fan of SciFi but Star Wars never did it for me. I left Star Wars at the theater when it first came out and went to see Jaws instead (Equally over-rated movie).

Ricky Stanicky (2024)
Simply hilarious
This is not a cerebral movie. It's stupidly funny.
Cana and Efron shine, especially Cena ...might be an introduction to his genre.
Is it your typical calculated, low brow humor? Sure. But it works.
People that are negatively rating it are probably not fans of this type of shtick humor. That's fine but I would say don't pass it up.
It's a simple story that probably hits home in some aspects of all our lives but with a twist to make it humorous.
Don't give in to the haters. It's not the comedy of the year (or any year) but it's a solid movie full of smiles and laughs.
Also , James H Macy is an automatic win for everyone, especially his air-dick.
Deus (2022)
Not well done but so "dreadful"
This movie could have been so much better but the concept is great. It's absolutely meant to cause despair and dread and it does on concept alone.
The cast was decent but the story was poor.
The concept still bothers me as it is very upsetting in knowing that a corporation or government would definitely do this in the future.
I guess the story really does hit home since we know that the governments of the world have duped their citizens in the past but this was just a dark take on that, taking advantage of the religious and the people that are hopeful that there is something more after death.
Died Suddenly (2022)
Anyone praising this Crockumentary as informative is a smooth-brain
Loads of misinformation that will cause many to die.
I assume Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey wrote this because it is a splendid comedy and they are both anti-vax.
If you think this is educational and informative then you probably have to remember to breathe because your brain is not capable of multitasking.
I was stunned that they didn't talk about the supposed GPS tracker that was in the vaccines. If that were true then none of the fans of this movie would be lost causes and I'd have an awesome 5g signal on my phone when I am out camping the in Boundary Waters.
So, close your mouth, inhale through your nose and skip this film.
The Good House (2021)
Typical "love" story
Nothing original here and the script (or at least dialogue) was underwhelming. Two once great actors that should probably throw in the towel after seeing this.
The book wasn't worthy of a film adaptation and the movie proves it.
I'm sure Klein and Weaver still have the talent to pull off a great movie but the fact that they signed on to this clear flop just screams "I made bad financial decisions and need to get paid".
Underwhelming performance by both and the supporting cast was just as miserable.
I guess the "cinematics" were nice but they really didn't play a significant role in the movie.
I'm sure the key grip did a great job too.
Paper Dragons (2021)
A really good movie but badly done
The premise is great. The 2 main characters do a great job (I think we will see them in more films).
The production was low budget but I think it was worth the watch.
Great storyline but you wanted to punch everyone other than the mains.
Maybe it was intentional but the supporting characters acted so poorly that you would want to punch them for trying to act.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Fun movie - not serious
This was a fun movie that was just perfect for relaxing and not needing to think. Well acted and a ridiculous plot/script as it clearly intended.
Intentionally over the top.
