The Dressmaker (I) (2015)
8/10
Fancy and Sassy
2 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As an international fan, I greatly enjoyed the movie and its story. It perfectly fits into black comedy with great acts. Casting Kate is great idea. First of all The scenery, colors, all cinematographic elements are displayed with beauty. Classic yet so amazing. Haute Couture pleases your eyes and I admire Kate for learning sewing for the movie. As a woman audience , Dressing as you want to be is a bliss.

The story contains many elements such as love, revenge, bullies, isolation, prejudice, social pressure. The movie makes you feel the way it goes. Even though It is classified as comedy, There is so many heart-breaking moments and got you emotional. When the Teddy died, I heard loud cries from everyone saying ''Why''. It was bizarre but still couldn't help stopping my tears. Flashbacks also serve as deep points in the story. From bullying parts to little town's witch hunt The movie gives you more than just a few laughters. Sergeant's discovery process also adds some good spices. His love for details amazed me. The love story itself is so heart- fluttering.

It also made me question why Academy pass this by. It could have a few nominations. So pity that It is ignored. At least It gets what deserved from local industry.

Such an epic beauty..
1 April 2016
The Series offer much more than dance series. It could been given bad review on the behalf of dances but The show isn't all about ballerinas. It has awesome storyline with great acting talents. The most important thing is to see well-rounded, complicated, outstanding characters with different obsessions. The versions of obsession, passion, love are portrayed with each character and It couldn't have been better than that. Especially Romeo served as prophet or hero adds so many deep points. You can each example of social norms in it. Family, friends, workmates, roommates, siblings ... You can write a deep analyze in each characters. The story contains a whole circle of people living with desire and passion Everyone has crucial parts on this circle. You can see how far can people take that Sacrifice matter.

Leaving or staying, fighting or giving up Much more big dilemmas get into your brain and make you question. The lead character is astonishingly brilliant. She has war inside. All these personal clash with beautiful scenes is found rarely. The only problems were not-having more episodes. There are at least 6 stories to tell in this show. From music to scenery It was blessing to watch. Give it a try.

Clean Simple Yet So Charming
12 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
And one day, the sun will come out you might not even notice straight away-it'll be that faint. And then you'll catch yourself thinking about something or someone who has no connection with the past. Someone who's only yours. And you'll realize that this is where your life is.

This is one of the best closing speeches that sums the movie. The story develops on one character who has no fear to choose her options. To find herself She has to mat it right and she goes for it. Even in our modern world We choose to stay in our small words with the fear of challenge, something new.

The movie says it aloud " Be brave, Challenge Search and Discover." It was the masterpiece of lead roles to reflect all character developments and instability of emotions. From starting with blank state to confident and made personal.

Cinematography is at its best. I know maybe it is a small detail or has no relation with truth but I love seeing Green details when it is about Ireland.

For me the best part of the movie is simple yet so charming love story. Lead actors' luxury visuals compliment the story. Their body language and face mimics flutter my heart. After "The Notebook" Stret scene and " The Legend" proposal scene Brooklyn has the most sensual love scene. There was no glamor, no exaggeration .. The bus scene was one of the moments I have lost my sense and live the moment. For once I forgot it is a movie. It was so realistic and so intimate.

Emory Cohen is another spotlight stealer for me. They all have done a great job but i still don't see the necessity of love triangle. Maybe it was the only turn-off moment for me

But Overall it is one of the magnificent movies of the year

Reflection
5 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The first thing I did was to fix my expectation.Cause We need to accept there is no plot,no character development.Even so, psychological concussions and personal reflections feed the audience.

It is plain, pure, artistic depict of a man trying to find his way into salvation. The pearl metaphor gives better sights than making character analysis.

He wasted all his life with savage feelings,non-stable relationships and ended up with being stranger to himself and lost his interest in this world. In this modern world It is not hard to find yourself.

Can't find himself, can't focus on his job, can't have enjoyment in any moment, can't contain his feelings, can't finish what he started, can't keep his awareness and understanding to an exact point.

Maybe because of the connection I built between the character and my life I enjoyed every seconds. Like clouds we come and go.No infinity. You are aware of your curse and still has nothing to do. It haunts and drown you more than anything.

''Dreams are nice but You can live in them'' But the character can breathe only when he stuck in his imagination. Thats why Dreams in dreams are emphasized so much. He has nowhere to go.

My most favorite parts were where he question himself. Where are you? Where should I begin? To where should I go? It is personal reflection every person can relate and highly Malick does too.

He aims for the pearl but He is in cups He has no where to go so He keeps his mind busy with uncommitted relationships or sexual interactions. Malick offers the answer in nature as being naturalist. In freedom chapter He finishes at the lands of rock - the purest form of nature.

The other suggestion comes as biblical. Angel figures to quotes He shows the answer as something higher to commit yourself.

Plot might seem dull and blank but Stream of Conscious technique, filler quotes and metaphors cover the need of development and exciting plot.

The movies' imaginary and scenes are fair enough to please audience. The concepts of each chapter and its completion with characters covers the need for character development.
