The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (2021)
A series about hockey written by someone who don't anything about hockey
As a child I was a huge fan of the "Mighty Ducks" movies with Emilio Estevez. I still think the first one has its charm (then they get worse and worse), but it is by no means a masterpiece.
Disney has done a series for two seasons (Disney seems to have run out of new ideas and is over the top on sequels, remakes, reboots, prequels, midquels etc). I watched it, mostly just because Emilio Estevez was in it. But had to be disappointed as he doesn't even have the main role and isn't even in the second season.
Is it good? No absolutely not! The only thing this series and the old movies have in common is that the people behind the crap very clearly don't know a damn thing about ice hockey. Flying V and knuckle puck don't work in the real world. And teams don't mix girls and boys in the same team, very unusual in real life.
And that last one is something that annoys me throughout the series. In the old movies, the other teams were always made up of white guys as players, while the Ducks were the only team with "diversity" as they had players who were girls on the team plus it was the only team to have players of different ethnicities. Because, face the fact. Ice hockey is usually a very white sport. And since it is a very physical sport with tackles (here Sweden where I live, peewee hockey and under 18 is not allowed to have full-contact tackles, but you can in America), which means that it is very rare to have girls on boys' teams when they have entered puberty.
But in the new (and now defunct) series, Disney has gotten into a frenzy that there must be "diversity" everywhere. Every single team in both seasons has players who are girls and also of different ethnicities. Even when it faces the Canadian all-star junior team, they have players of both genders and all ethnicities. In their eagerness to show diversity, they take away what was so unique about the old Ducks in the old movies. They are not unique anymore. I guess everyone is unique, even the antagonists are unique these days.
And the result, a tiresome series about a sport whose writers know nothing about and one-dimensional characters in a Disney mess that has now been shut down due to lack of public interest.
The Countess (2009)
How much can you lie in a movie and still claim it's based on a true story.
Imagine if someone seriously took it upon themselves to make a movie based on one of the worst male serial killers in history with hundreds of victims, and then changed the story in their eagerness to show a strong independent man who was just taken advantage of by all the mean women and that he was just victimized by power hungry women while while he just valiantly, selfsacrificingly and brave struggled to protect the ones he loved.
Just imagine that. That film would never been well received, but rather had been accused of spreading lies and misogyny.
But now the genders are reversed and then it's apparently perfectly fine. I am not I'm not surprised by this hypocrisy, some likes to do this when it suits their own agenda.
Kautokeino-opprøret (2008)
Beautiful environment, but a story just based lies.
The film shows beautiful environments, and the actors are really good.
But is far too one-sided and when it comes to the truth content, it is quite frankly just a lot of lies.
In the real life, those who took part in the uprising were religious fanatics (their leaders said, among other things, that they would kill anyone who did not want to follow their faith). They kidnapped other Sami whom they forced to participate, abused and whipped women, etc. But that never happens in this movie, .
The priest Stockfleth, who in reality worked a lot for democracy in the area and the Sami written language, portrays him as an evil demonic sadist.
It's bizarre that Gaup is trying to portray religious fanatics as heroes (like kidnapping and whipping women and children). But Gaup is too busy with his identity politics in his eagerness to portray these people as heroes that he is straight up lying.
Gaup should be ashamed of himself.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Fell asleep.
Now I have just seen "Captain Marvel" from . I have tried to watch it two times before, but fell asleep before the end. Well I now that mig sofa is very cozy, but I just can´t blame the sofa becasue the movie was boring.
Don´t get me wrong, I actually use to love soperhero movies. I also like movies like "Alien", "Terminator 2" and a lot of other movies with "strong independent women" so I have no problem with strong independent women in movies.
But this movie is so boring and Larson is so wrong as the title character.
Of all of this Marvel Extended Universe-movies this is the one that I liked least.
This movie sucks!
