Avenue 5 (2020)
Better than The Orville
The first time I started watching this it was with my husband late at night after enjoying a few beverages. We were chatting a lot and it didn't have my full attention. As a result, I just thought it was ok.
For some reason I gave it another chance by myself during the day. And I'm glad I did.
This show is soo funny! You have to give it your full attention or you will miss the quality scriptwriting.
I'm a massive sci-fi fan and I'd like to believe that my bar is set fairly high when it comes to the genre. This show has awesome writers, a totally believable set, a rare very, very good cast, story development, and fantastic production value. I am so pleased that it has been renewed for a second season!
Us sci-fi fans have slim pickens when it comes to new shows. What I would give to have Stargate Universe be picked up again! Or the Star Trek series with a new director! Or Dr Who is an actually good Dr Who! Avenue 5 scratches an itch only true sci-fi fans can appreciate.
Last Light (2022)
You've seen this before
Same predictable turn of events as dozens of other global emergency shows. They followed the time-tested algorithm for this, with nothing new.
Matthew Fox is past his prime and a weak actor. Like countless movies from the 90s and before, they put a 56 year old man married to a 42 year old woman. They should have found a hot guy in his 40s. Would have been more interesting. The rest of the cast was pretty good.
It felt like propaganda for the electric car industry. I think it's meant to scare us into buying Teslas lol
Still, I binged it while sick. I don't feel good about it, but it passed the time! Don't watch it during the day, though. Too much glare. Most of the show is set in very dark rooms or night. I could barely make out what was happening in a number of scenes.
House of the Dragon (2022)
B Grade
This is a B grade version of the original. Awful casting for the lead parts. Milly Alcock CAN NOT carry this role. Her and her odd mouth region bring down the grade of the whole show.
And don't get me started on Matt Smith in platinum blonde. With a beard and long dark hair - sure. I haven't been so disappointed in a Dr Who since I saw Christopher Eccelston's pee pee in The Leftovers.
It is fun to drink and watch though, just so you and your partner can make fun of how bad it is compared to the original.

Look Both Ways (2022)
Truth
This was written by a lady who has wisdom. The purity and truth in Natalie's voice resonated with me as a woman and mother. We need more of this honesty on the screen. I LOVE THIS *<(8^)<-<:
Nude Tuesday (2022)
Julia Davis Isa Legend
The one written by Julia Davis was fracking hilarious! What a comedic genius you are, lady! The other one depressed my soul. What happened to you Celia Pacquola? Did Chieng stifle your funny?
Awesome idea, well executed and made the audience think. I for one, was amazed at the difference a good script can make.
Charmed (2018)
Insult to original
The original Charmed was so special. So ubercool. It's coolness has stood up to decades of time. It left you with such a warm feeling at the end of every episode. You could and still can watch it and it lifts you up, even if your having a hard time. It is pure magick.
I get that this is a reboot or reimagining or some crap. But it lacks any soul. It is just like countless other teenage trite shows. Mindless drivel and forgettable. The people responsible for making this show totally missed the essence of the original. I wish they had never used the Charmed name in this way.
It has NO magick.
