Unhinged (2020)
Illogical and unrealistic
The script is nonsensical. The road raging man is able to use his car to knock the other car in red light traffic and the other cars surrounding them acted like nothing was happening. The man was able to kill another man in a diner with many people in it. The situation leading to that was even weirder as the man who was killed somehow entertained the guy without knowing anything about him even after the woman said she didn't know him. Later, the guy chased the woman and her son on a highway immediately after ramming a police car but instead of going to a police station, the woman thought it was better to go to her mother's house!
Dark Places, Deadly Illusions (2021)
One of the worst movies ever
I thought people were exaggerating about how bad it was, but nope, they were spot on. The whole thing is a mess - the plot's confusing, mid acting, and the characters too. It started off like a family movie, then started to turn into a weird mix of thriller, supernatural, and mental health stuff. Doesn't make much sense. It's not the worst, but definitely one of the strangest and disappointing films I've seen. It's like the producers wanted to make a parody movie like Scary Movie but ended up without the comedy. I will never watch this movie again. There's nothing good to take from it. It is terrible in many ways.
Desperados (2020)
Uninteresting characters
The lead character is not attractive enough for this role. The plot is ridiculous but not ridiculous enough to be entertaining. Most of the characters are average looking and uninteresting. I think the movie should've focused more on the relationship between the main character and the initial romantic interest to make the adventure into Mexico a little more worthy. The moments with the friends are too dry without anything good to remember. When the second romantic interest came into the picture in Mexico, I already knew where it was going. Like, the first guy is not good enough so the second guy is the standby guy for a dramatic ending.
End of the Road (2022)
Unwise woman
The main character (the mother) is not very wise for refusing to take the money, refusing to allow her brother to take it even after being hunted by the bad people, and leaving her family at the small town to go back to the motel and get back the money. There's some appalling people trying to attack her family and the first thing she thought of is to leave her family at the same place her son was kidnapped. She's been unwise in many other moments as well, like not paying attention to her surrounding when carrying the money to the motel which led to an unpleasant woman stealing it from her (she could've concealed the bag). Another moment was getting out of her car to confront the two truck troublemakers. That could've gone very wrong especially with a shotgun in their truck. It makes me believe that if the woman wasn't very unwise, none of the bad things would've happened. Going into the next door room to aid a dying man is unwise as well. There's nothing she could've done to save him. She, being a nurse, would've known that but for some reason she couldn't comprehend and decided to put her fingerprints all over the body, which could've turned out badly. This entire movie is about the woman doing unwise things. Ludacris is the only reason I didn't stop watching.
A Fall from Grace (2020)
Not good
For a movie that tries to present itself as a serious movie, it's the most unrealistic movie I've ever seen. Evil mom and son have been keeping old women in their basement for 25 years but somehow allow one of them to roam free out and about in their house and in the neighborhood. The man, who scammed the lady into marriage and used her identity to take loans using her name and steal money from her company, was beaten with a baseball bat so many times by her but somehow doesn't die and ends up living in his mother's basement/house indefinitely to keep his death faked. So much romantic development in the earlier part only for the twist to destroy it in 15 minutes at the end. It could've been done better. Also, the acting was poor in the first half, as it felt like they were reading a script with little emotions. It sounded like a bunch of students trying to pass an acting class. I could've had an amazing night by not watching this movie.
Do Revenge (2022)
Nonsensical fantasy
So many things wrong in this movie that don't make sense. Max, the cheating boyfriend of Drea, admits to leaking a nude video of her and that's the big gotcha moment at the end that made him the bad guy and her the hero, not the part Eleanor tried to kill Drea by driving into her, not the part when the two girls drugged an entire class of students, not the part where they stole the dude's phone and sneaked into places they shouldn't be in. Drea blames others and never herself, but she's the hero, right? We gotta reward the toxic and obnoxious people for the sake of promoting feminism. She didn't get into Yale because she assaulted someone but she made it seem like the big deal was Yale finding out she assaulted someone and she had to blame someone for that. These ladies are criminals but somehow the movie makes them the heros and the saviors of society. It's like watching SpongeBob, where nothing makes sense, just nonsensical fantasy. I give it a two for the nice quotes and Talia Ryder.
Moxie (2021)
Bland cast, unoriginal plot and narrow perception about men/society
The tokenism is ridiculous. Many cliché dialogues. The lead character doesn't have the "mojo" to be the protagonist. She seems like the sidekick type of character. The part where an object was stolen from the principal's office and they couldn't find who did it, was strange, when it was obvious the lead character was the only one in that office before it was stolen. They could've put two and two together for many "mysteries" in the film but somehow didn't. It's a movie with a narrow angle about how men are nasty and unfair. It lacks originality and logic. The characters were bland and couldn't connect well with each other and there wasn't much of a chemistry. It's the type of movie I will not remember after a few weeks.
Fatal Affair (2020)
As average as possible
So many things wrong with this film - bad acting, zero chemistry, poor plot, terrible ending. This is the type of movie I'll not remember in a few days.
Crawlspace (2016)
Among worst twenty
It started out like a movie about ghosts or evil spirits, but it turned out to be one about a mentally ill, emo goth-looking psychopath living in the attic of a house a family of three just moved into. It dumbfounded me that these three family members weren't able to overpower this one man. Then there's the crooked squatting locksmith who breaks into the house, goes upstairs to spy on the girl changing her clothes - he somehow gets killed silently right outside the door by the psychopath who then drags his body into the attic without making a single sound to alert the girl. Is that man a psychopath or god? Multiple times throughout the later half of the film, the main characters defy logic by not taking safety precautions knowing well there's a killer near them. It is not the worst movie I've ever seen but it is certainly amongst the worst twenty.
The Terminal (2004)
Eastern European but acts autistic
Hanks' character is a traveler from a wartorn country in Eastern Europe. In the film, he acts a little like a Bulgarian-speaking autist, and in some instances, like Mr. Bean. This performance likens the average Eastern European to an autist, which I find to be disrespectful. If the character was meant to be autistic, there's no indication in the film at all of confirming it.
ATM (2012)
Comedy not horror
The three main characters simply decided to stick around and be in that building while the killer was outside. There were hundreds of thousands of ways to escape that killer but they chose to behold and embrace his presence. With that alone, this movie instantly turned into a comedy.
South32 (2016)
Awful movie, poor acting skills, predictable dialogues, very negative and boring plot.
The movie is basically about a criminal getting her way and justice never got served. The blood looked so fake, it looked like vomit. The detectives were basically clowns as they didn't seem well-trained and their acting skills were quite awful. The environment and setting of the movie was rather interesting. I wouldn't give it more than 2 stars because the plot was boring, the actors weren't good enough, there's no good moral values in this, it's very negative and the dialogues were obviously predictable. I would never watch a movie produced by the producers of this film ever again. Seems like a low-budgeted film with desperate actors and crew.
The 5th Wave (2016)
Poor performance from supporting roles
Despite this being a fictitious film, several scenes were very unrealistic. Also, the acting skills of the supporting roles were not at the best performance as some were 'over-acting' while the others were giving poor reactions in their scenes. However, the main role was slightly better than average performance. The best performance of the film goes to Evan Walker who had been excellent in his role. The sound effects and graphics were incredible throughout the film. Overall, I'd have to rate it 4 out of 10 due to lack of great performance from the supporting roles. Not the best movie but just average entertainment. It's an average movie, could have been better with better selection of supporting actors.
