Yardie (2018)

Simply fantastic. Well done Mr Elba. Amazing cast, excellent performances all round and great sound track. Overall this was thrilling and engaging, and most importantly told a story that many black people (Caribbean or African) faced in grim 80s Britain. Sadly from the comments, it unsettled some of the closet racism we like to pretend doesnt exist in the UK. I totally understand that its not a movie that everyone would love, but the poor reviews constantly state "couldn't understand" "speaking utter gibberish", "may as well have been speaking martian". All I can say this movie obviously wasnt made for you. You cannot watch a movie called Yardie and expect Queens English. Its completely be-littling of a people, a culture and way of life. All I can say is, Thank you Idris Elba for starting your directorial career telling the peoples story, generic hollywood garbage can always be churned out later. Well Done!

Sisters (III) (2015)
Terrible
23 January 2016
Not funny, awkward at best, very shallow theme throughout, middle aged women prancing around like kids, not convincing in their roles.. Annoyed that I wasted my evening..

I have never written a review before, but I was moved by my disappointment. All the publicity and promotion. I expected more.

There isn't really much of a story line to critique. It fails in every aspect. The script lacks depth, the jokes are poor, visually there is nothing exceptional to remark on.

Light hearted movies with poor scripts at least keep the audience entertained with visuals (e.g attractive cast/nice cars/art/architecture/fun parties etc). Sadly this movie also fails to this regard...
