Absolutely fantastic
3 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I completely binge watched this series. I was balljng my eyes out for most of it.

The director captured very subtle change in ages as Emma and Dex grow older and experience life changes. Leo's acting was superb because he was able to play a sweet boy, adonis, gaslighter, player, and more. He was so convincing that you could actually imagine Emmas love for him one minute and disappointed as he appears to be not the person she thought he was.

The slow burn start was annoying but equally this created frustration in Emma as she holds back from intimacy. She was a beautifully portrayed as innocence and nervousness and a lack of confidence.

One of the best things i have seen on TV for so long. Have to watch it again.

The next call the midwife!

Sensational. I just love the film sets, costumes, acting and scripts. I am seriously binge watching this series! Filmed in the black country with an accurate description of why it is called the black country. Set in the windrush era, this series shares history of what life was like for Caribbean immigrants relocating to the UK. A story that I wanted to hear with superb characters. The film sets and cars, shops and homes look authentically 1950s. And wow Dudley zoo features! Not to be missed. I hope the series continues and the characters develop. No hidden ethnic agendas here, pure history and its beautifully done!

Difficult to rate the best actor
12 November 2022
Every season has been fabulous. The Acting was superb. Although real life royals can be 'perfectly out of touch toffs' the cast have studied them well. The series has certainly explained their extraordinary lives very well

Really clever acting. Beautiful shots of Buckingham palace, Balmoral and other locations. Prince Philip comes out as a firm favourite as his character is bought to life each season by 3 perfect actors

No spoilers here. Definitely worth watching if only to understand 'the firm'. This piece of history may never be captured again in the same way and forms part of British history.

Kids stuff with adult content
13 August 2022
Just got bored and lost the plot to be honest. Really couldnt work out who was doing what or why? Sci-fi for kids with adult themes. And thanks for ruining what was once my favourite Kate Bush track.

Great film, superb acting
19 April 2022
Simply first class. Anthony Hopkins is a superb actor yet again. Just so genuine and real. Brad Pitt is just gorgeous. Its taken years for me to get round to watching this film and it was worth the wait. Great plot, nicely done. No spoilers here, just watch the film and enjoy.

Great childs film
18 April 2022
Entertaining ghost movie with a time travel theme. Great one for the holidays

A bit of a mystery. Not scary, and some pleasant child characters with a film plot

Maggie Smith is lovely as usual!

Expected more
18 April 2022
Helen Hunt's acting just did not suit this movie. But then again, it is called a good woman. I think the idea is that she is not what she seems. Just a simple watchable film. A little bit of a twist and I wish the ending was different I guess. But it is an Oscar Wilde novel, so it is what it is!

Lost the plot

The music is probably the most dramatic thing about this series. I replayed some episodes to try to pick up the plot again and again. Dubbing was poor, voice overs were awful. Acting may have been good if I could have kept up.

Perfectly charming!

Warning: Spoilers
Just a joy to watch an Alec Guinness film which show cases his acting skills once again.

The portrays the rise of the sone of a simple washer woman, an ambitious man who does not forget his roots and is still able to share his success with others.

Glynis Johns is superb s a very sweet and charmingly manipulative young woman, also aspiring to greater things. Worth watching just to see the acting skills of two very loved stars from the 1950s

Judges are pretentious
21 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The program itself is fun and I find it watchable..

However, the female judge, Sophie Robinson is so obviously biased from the moment the programme comes on and you can guess from the off who is go into win.

She does not critique fairly and too be honest is just snooty. I am hardly surprised that some contestants cry when they are sent home. Series 3 episode 10 saw a very creative designer go home, over 3 other designers, 2 of which, who to be honest just painted walls!

Sophie says all the snooty stuff for the cameras but when it comes to giving feedback, she leaves that to the male presenter, Daniel.

More helpful would be supportive feedback as you might hear in master chef. Which would also be useful to viewers.

Documentary and not a film!
22 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not sure what to believe or not to believe !

If it is true then for sure it would be frightening for the family involved.

We see one ghost hunter fall from the attic claiming to have been pushed. There are several shots of 'someone looking in at the window'. All very spooky.

Why on earth did a second family buy the home? If it was so well known for the hauntings, I would complain to the realtor !

Don't take it so seriously ...

Warning: Spoilers
This film is in itself, quite lovely somehow given the tragedy it portrays.

Not surprising then, that so many things about dates, times, location, weather have errors and please consider if these are really goofs or indeed intended goofs.

If it was so accurate, you would assume the story being told was factual and and simply isn't and for some this could be a very upsetting film.

The story line is tragic and told very well and whilst we are all waiting for a happy ending, it may or may not be what we expect.

All the of the actors adhere to a particular acting style as the story unfolds and Susan Sarandon is quite marvellous at holding the family together, even though she clearly has issues of her own.

I enjoyed the film, I own it on DVD and think it is memorable

Loved it!!!
16 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It took me many years to admit that I loved Elton John. The music is fantastic, but I struggled to warm to Elton. As a kid I never liked his choice of eye wear! I completely got over this by the time I reached 18 years and started buying his back tracks. This film was brilliant and I loved every minute.

It was heartwarming, made me laugh and smile and cry in places. The music was outstanding and more than anything, I really really warmed to Elton so much, it's time to buy his music again!

There must have been some tough scenes for Elton himself to reflect on. Hugs to a great person, human being and super star ! This film is a must to watch

A story worth telling

Warning: Spoilers
A true story captured in this Edwardian staged drama

portrays Edwardian London well and views of women at that time who were becoming more liberal in their views and thoughts. Sadly, it appears that Edith was wrongfully accused, based on the biased views of the legal system in those times. She was a bright and forward thinking young woman and the world was just not quite ready for her. Nicely filmed and memorable

Full of nostalgia, beautifully filmed ..
9 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I watched part of this filmed being made at the Black Country Living Museum and it was a joy to see the full film.

The acting was perfection and I loved every minute.

Old enough to remember watching Laurel and Hardy when they were still hugely popular on TV throughout the 70s, bought back so many memories. My grandparents and parents loved them too.

My favourite scene is the Robin Hood scene which Laurel had described to Stan but never actually made. It was nice to see that done perhaps as was imagined.

Really love and still do love them. And as much as they would make you laugh, I could only cry at this film. Beautiful...

What was that? Ruth how could you?
12 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Cant believe that the brilliant Ruth Wilson agreed to act in this film.

If i could sue Netflix for stealing my time, i would.

Still cant work out what the big fuss was about Polly walking backwards? Then it turns about that its only part of her thats backwards.

Did the mould kill everyone off. Heard lots of lies and water sprinklers but never saw one?

Lost the will to live i expect like i did, waiting for an end that never came. Yawn....

Stephen Graham is truly brilliant
7 June 2019
I had to watch this series, because Stephen Graham is great to watch. He bought this drama to life presenting such a humble character. It almost felt like watching a documentary in parts and Stephen really made you feel desperately sad for his character, Joseph and even embarrassed for him at times by his behaviour. This drama felt so real and I truly think that is down to a good story line and a first class actor who had given lots of thought how to bring the story to life. Marvellous

Unique and not to be missed
13 April 2019
I have just finished watching Fleabag having heard great things about the show. So I was able to watch in one sitting

I must admit the first 10 mins of the first episode did not inspire me and I almost turned it off. I couldn't see myself warming to the character and her sideways glances at the camera and 'think outloud' aspects but pressed on!

Having got through the first episode, I was keen to see more. A 30 minute show is unusual these days, so the short bites were intriguing. I soon warmed to Fleabag as a character and could not wait to watch the next episode after episode. Loved it!

So if like myself you start to watch it and think about giving up, wondering what all the hype is about, do carry on. Easy to watch, funny, warm and with some melancholy moments

Sorry but this could have been so much better

George Mckays acting was good and I always think he is a credible actor but I seriously lost the plot with this movie. Maybe I need to watch it again? Or not at all....
