Supernatural: Stranger in a Strange Land (2018)
Everyone needs to chill
Hey I'm a long time Supernatural fan and have been with this show through the ups and downs. This episode is NOT A DOWN, but an UP. And yet I've seen a lot of negativity aimed at this premiere and from what I've read, y'all need to ease up on the complaints and criticisms of a show you claim to be fans of.
If you've been with this show long enough, you know that the premiere isn't always a smashing episode, but rather a lead into the major action that picks up in Ep. 2 (look at Season 10 or even Season 13 previously). This premiere was damn good. It was well acted, set up many plot points for the coming season, and more or less, it was new and uncharted territory.
For a show going in to it's 14th season, that is the most important point: can it keep up the energy? I would say definitively, YES! Plus, not enough people are talking about one of Sam's most badass moments in a long time (aka ENOUGH!). I just think people have been pretty picky about this episode and have been quick to crap on the episode before the season even truly begins. I'll see if my opinion changes for the rest of the season, but for now, people really need to lighten up.
9/10 Good episode!
Supernatural: Funeralia (2018)
Rowena Love
This episode was definitely dope. It was amazing seeing Rowena so vulnerable but it's awesome that she appears to be Team Winchester now. I like that we're finally talking about Crowley and all of the hard crap that's taken a toll on Rowena. This has shaped up to be the best season in years.
I also love the return of Amanda Tapping as Naomi. That was a pleasant surprise and the writers (Dabb and Singer) seem to have a more creative team that are revisiting some of the show's strongest themes and characters. I do hope Heaven doesn't come crashing down but I think we just got our season finale! It's gonna be some hairy last couple of episodes!
Supernatural: Bring 'em Back Alive (2018)
And indeed they did
Just not who we were expecting. While I'm disappointed that we still didn't get Jack or Mary back yet, the return of Charlie in Apocalypse World was a well received surprise. Now with Bobby and Kevin, I have a third reason to like Apocalypse World. Also, it's so good to have Gabriel back to his old self but he is a dick for sure for walking out on the boys after everything they did for him. And the dispatching of Asmodeus is slightly disappointing but I don't believe he is dead for sure (he did have some of Gabriel's powers after all). Either way, the acting on Jensen's part was overall the strongest point of the episode. I love when Dean gets emotional and it is always a great way to end on a high note, albeit a sad high note.
