Amal (2007)
Great Story line.
I loved the story & star cast except that it can seem slow at times & Nasseruddin Shah's death was too early in the story. Also the accent of the main protagonist AMAL was little off & acting of some side characters is little off too. But all n all a good watch, if you patience.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare (2019)
Beginning of the End for Bhumi's film career?
Disclaimer: I am a big fan of Bhumi Pednekar.
This movie is all over the Place & the story is full of coincidences with chance meetings of characters at such a rate thats it's clearly more than sheer coincidence.
The director appears to be in a hurry to put on as many events as possible which don't gel well & keeps jumping events with no evident connection.
Acting is below average & doesn't flow smoothly.
Every character is trying hard to act & forcing themselves (as character) in to the events, through the movie.
Hard to believe that an actor like Bhumi, who I thought was far more talented watching her in movies like Toilet & Sand ki Ankh, is part of such a movie.
I really hope this movie is not the beginning of end for Bhumi Pednekars movie career.
I for one believe that shes far talented than her acting in this movie.
Raktanchal (2020)
Average
The series had good potential, but ended up being full of overacting. It seems like a sleazy 90s bollywood movie of Mithun Chakraborty. The acting is below average with only exception being Sanki Pandey played by Kochhar. Character of Wasim Khan has 0 expression & most characters don't even appear from UP with missing dialect & below par dialogue delivery. Poor direction that makes story look far from reality. Don't appear to be "BASED ON TRUE EVENTS" as is claimed.
Class of 83 (2020)
Could Have Been Better
The storyline had a huge potential but unfortunately the movie makers missed the bus.
First off, the movie is too short at 1.30 hrs for the storyline which should have been atleast 2-2.30 hrs.
For the length of the movie the story is too slow in the beginning & tend to not keep you interested. Given the police story background, the makers could have added some exciting sequences in the first half. The second half was good, but appears to have been rushed to the end to finish the movie.
The acting is good from Bobby Deol to Anup Soni, everyone has done justice to thier respective roles.
All n all the movie is little over average.
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020)
Waste of Story!!
When I saw the low rating of this movie, I thought it could be because of peoples anger about Nepotism fueled by Shushant Singh's suicide, but when I saw the movie, I know why it's so low & rightfully so.
What a waste of Story.
This could have been a great movie backed by an awe inspiring story of a brave human being called Gunjan Saxena.
Instead, all you see in Jhanvi Kapoor playing a version of real Alia Bhatt a.k.a Dumb, unfortunately potraying Gunjan Saxena.
1) She goes to the Flying Academy to get admission every few years only to find out that the qualification she has, was valid only a few years back & she cannot be admitted. So much of research for someone aspiring to be a Pilot. For once, you feel it's good she didn't get selected.
2) She gets ruthlessly attacked by a senior officer due to her being a Female, while being fully supported by a senior(a male) officer of that abusing officer. However, when she gets pushed, she doesn't think of raising it at a senior level, instead she crashes into one of the guys' late night party, picks up the music system playing & then keeps it down & leaves the place for good with a sorry speech only to come back.
3) The abusing officer when confronted by the heroine, challenges her for an arm wrestling match with a male colleague & everytime he pushes her down & for about 8 times or so shes asked to fight again, only to see her sorry face ( showing how weak she is) with no effort whatsoever to fight back. And the irony is she is supposed to be in army fighting enemies bravely. With that kind of effort shown in the arm wrestling, I doubt if that person is even fit to be part of a professional army let alone fight in a war.
This movie could have been so much better & it's a pity to see what it's reduced to.
I am not surprised with the low rating.
I will give it a heavyhearted 2 only for Pankaj Tripathis acting & music.
Axone (2019)
Beautiful Story
I loved the story. Very simple & short.
Great cast & acting.
We want more good actors from northeast to be part of our mainstream cinema.
Hasmukh (2020)
A FULL 10
I am rating it a full 10 for the attacks by the judhead lawyers who want to muzzle any voice against them, albeit as a mere character by filing court cases.
The acting is good & story is very interesting. Could it be even better, yes for sure.
For one the pace & writing itself, which often seemed unconnected
Dirilis: Ertugrul (2014)
Too over the top acting.
Could certainly have been better given the high budget of the series.
It seemed like a cheap copy of GOT.
Never Have I Ever (2020)
A must watch
I loved the acting & for once there is no typical "Bobble" head Indian characters with thick Indian accent😂😂
THANK YOU....COME AGAIN😜
Panipat (2019)
Not bad at all
The acting was not the greatest, but the overall movie including song, art & special effects cover it pretty well.
Techincally the movie is well made.
Acting could have been better.
Chhapaak (2020)
Too Trivialised
A movie that should have been one on a very serious topic, appears to have been too dramatised & commercialised.
2 stars for acting & story.
