Romeo and Juliet (1968)
The BEST version of this Shakespeare story PERIOD!!!!!!!
This movie is one of the most beautiful movies EVER. Franco Zefferelli's cinematography is absolutely captivating. You get sucked in from the time this movie begins to the time it ends. Olivia Hussey is absolutely stunningly beautiful in this. I had first come across this classic when taking a college course and absolutely fell in love with it. I have seen other versions of this classic, but have enjoyed this one the most. This movie really makes you believe in love. It illustrates the power of love and how beautiful that it actually is. This is definitely one of the most colorful examples of love in the movies.
Logan (2017)
Beautiful sendoff
It is no secret that Hugh Jackman would play Wolverine one last time with this movie. The question is how do you send off one the most iconic comic book characters in cinematic history? The answer is simple: allow James Mangold, who not only directed this and The Wolverine, but also the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line. This film was also designed as a thank you to the fans of the character and the comic. It is definitely a must see.
Real Genius (1985)
One of Val Kilmer's best
I absolutely love this movie. Val Kilmer's second outing showing off his comedic chops after 1984's Top Secret. It is no secret that he has an incredible range as we have seen from Doc Holliday to Nick Rivers. This movie is one of my top favorites and the lines are memorable and often quoted. I use a lot of them in my life. It is a moral imperative that one watches this and enjoys it. May I suggest watching with popcorn or perhaps some Jell-O?
