Belly went from likable to dislikable
21 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I could not understand why Belly turns into a self absorbed shallow girl when she starts out with good values and caring for others. She breaks 3 boys hearts and uses her now good looks to trample over everyone including her best friend. I watched this series while being quarantined from COVID and it did hold my interest so I rated it a 7. Good acting although a bit overacting such as the mother's getting high and acting out of character and Belly getting drunk with no real consequences.

What a disappointment

I love call me Kat. I love Dustin Hoffman. But this is so over the top. No redeeming characters or plot. Not at all realistic. Candace Bergman as the mother is so unlikeable that it ruins the whole story.

Am I crazy but does this movie diss shiva and Jewish ritual
28 September 2014
There are some funny and moving parts to this movie. However, the Rabbi (Boner), is portrayed in a very nerdy way and the Synagogue scene is totally disrespectful. All in all, there is no honoring of the Jewish tradition of sitting Shiva and, as a Jewish person, I felt that my traditions were being made fun of in a not funny way. I didn't see any redeeming features regarding the woman called Penny in the film and no one was really likable. I liked the house where everyone convened. I liked the birthday cake in the beginning. These are not great reasons to recommend a film so I won't. In fact, I kept looking at my cell phone during the movie because I hoped it would be over soon. Tina Fey didn't do it for me this time. I actually liked Jane Fonda in this film.

Displaying a cross in a public place made me puke
14 June 2014
Even though the town bought a very small plot of land around the cross to get around the law, they were the bad guys who were made to look good in this film

Also what is wrong with eating good food. Sushi is made fun of in this film along with lattes and all the things considered uppity

Why was there only one black person in the town Why did the streets look busy When only 321 people lived there

Why does going to church make you a good person When you are serving people

This movie is not worth your time but the start is cute
