The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger (2022)
FINALLY REAL STAR WARS
This was hands down the best star wars since Rogue One (and even beats it)
Now if only we can get disney to retcon that RIDICULOUS sequel trilogy and make something actually good out of this storyline.
The Wheel of Time: The Eye of the World (2021)
Even different from the books it's just terrible
What an awful season finale for such an awful season.
Please cancel this garbage and make something decent.
I'm starting to be afraid for lord of the rings....
Foundation: The Leap (2021)
No foundation in logic
Ok what the heck?? The explanation behind the Vault was the DUMBEST thing I have ever seen, and the least satisfying one I could imagine.
What a major let down.
I hate to say it, but this show needs to get the axe. I won't be watching season 2 at all. Cancelling my Apple TV+
This show is an insult to anyone who watches it.
Foundation: The First Crisis (2021)
Where is logic?
I can't believe the insanity that the writers pass for logic in this show.
Who actually read the specific plot events in this episode that thought "hey, yeah that makes sense".
So many times I had to yell "NO ONE WOULD DO THAT" "THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN"
Even the "surprise" at the end, I said "if that's (spoiler) walking towards us I'm going to have a stroke"
Please call 911.
American Gods: Git Gone (2017)
Boring and empty
This one could have easily been cut down to 5-10 minutes. Or less.
Annoying irritating character in an annoying and irritating episode.
Pass on this one, unless you are sitting in the DMB with an hour to kill.
Invasion (2021)
You kill Sam Neil in ep 1????
Title says it all. They lured me in with Sam Neil and then kill him off first thing
Rest of the cast is dull as a soup spoon
Glad my Apple tv+ was a free trial. I won't be subbing.
Foundation: Upon Awakening (2021)
Again....so much anti-logic
People have shields....but their warships have none?
Don't get me started on how stupid it is to have a knife be a key to a door in a futuristic starship
This show has only gotten more and more ridiculous.
I'm out.
Foundation: The Mathematician's Ghost (2021)
What?
This episode made zero sense. No explanation or even reference to the previous cliffhanger.
I was bored out of my mind.
I'll give it one more episode before I bail.
Sweet Tooth: Secret Sauce (2021)
Wow how did it come to this??
Such an amazing start, and then we get THIS? Unbelievably horrible acting from the "furries", and nonsensical doesn't even begin to describe the writing.
I'm done after this episode.
Tales from the Loop: Transpose (2020)
Interesting ideas terrible execution
Not an original idea, but still an intriguing world to present it in. Unfortunately the way they progress and ultimately resolve (or don't) the story leaves much to be desired.
I finished this episode with a bad taste in my mouth and no desire to finish the series. That should say enough. I would give it one extra star foe the great music but since it started at a 0 that's still 1 star.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: No Small Parts (2020)
Best episode of a great show
The season started okay, but as the episodes progressed the writing got better.
This episode was the ULTIMATE CHERRY ON TOP and just blew us away. We got more emotionally invested in this episode than almost any episode of TNG.
A+ to the writers and the cast. Can't wait for season 2!!!!
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
A movie for idiots
The amount of stupid things in this movie that made me go "really?" is astronomical. Putting aside the number of times a part of the plot was completely ripped from a previous Star Wars movie, there were so many ridiculous events I had to double check to make sure this wasn't Space Balls the Sequel.
This movie really felt like it was aimed at 5-10 year olds who wouldn't question any of the GLARING problems in it.
1/10. Terrible sci fi movie. Abysmal Star Wars movie.
Aladdin (2019)
Not a great movie, and a TERRIBLE aladdin
The entire first 30 minutes I thought I was watching a clip from someone's Youtube channel. The acting and CGI were very poor, considering the budget and production effort.
On top of the terrible acting and graphics, the plot diverged from the original in ways that only made it worse (or completely nonsensical), or they had no point whatsoever.
Without the original "diamond in the rough" hourglass, how was Jafar supposed to know who it is?? This makes no sense!!!
As an original film I would give this a 6/10. As an adaptation of Aladdin it's 2/10.
Please put some effort into the next one, Disney.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
Terrible.....just terrible
This movie started out interesting. Cool looking alien race on a paradise world that gets suddenly and savagely attacked.
Unfortunately that story is put on hold for an hour and a half while we have to watch Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne awkwardly go through their lines at each other with no emotion whatsoever. It felt like they were doing a dress rehearsal but ended up just deciding it was good enough, added the CGI and threw it into theaters.
Lines like "hey we all make mistakes" in the middle of a tense scene will have you rolling your eyes. The fact that his partner (who he claims to be in love with) is in imminent danger, and yet he is instead distracted by an exotic alien dancer...completely forgetting that someones life is depending on him, is just one of the ridiculous things that somehow managed to make it past the cutting room.
In fact, the list of things that fall in the "oh my god, that would never ever happen. No one would do that!" is so long, it suspends any remnant of immersion they could have possibly created.
In short, I'm a huge fan of Star trek, Star wars, The Fifth Element, Avatar, and Firefly....but this movie was absolute garbage after the first 10 minutes.
