I am a history teacher, so I know very well that there are historical inaccuracies at play here... but so what?
This is a TV show. And a very entertaining and engaging show at that. While J-R-M might not resemble the fat slob we know and recognize from the paintings, he has the passion and the dominance that the young Henry VIII possessed. The rest of the casting is excellent as well, with my favorite by far being Jeremy Northam as Sir Thomas More. Anne Boleyn was only RUMORED to have 6 fingers, we do not know (since none of us were there) whether or not this is fact.
Overall I find the acting, the plot, the setting, the character selection, and the visual imagery to be very well done. Seriously, this is a good show, in spite of the historical inaccuracies. But like another poster said, NONE of us were there... anyone who ever sets out to make a show or movie about any historical event will have historical mistakes.
Whereas I give Rome 9 stars, the Tudors get 8.
