Holmes & Watson (2018)
This would be my least favorite movie... if it could be recognized as a movie
True story: A car hit a transformer and knocked the power out in my block. I checked the movie times on the app as I figured a movie would kill time. I saw this was starting within 20 min so I grabbed my popcorn bucket and headed to the theater. Thirty minutes in and I opted to head back to the dark, quiet solitude of my home.
It's just Will Ferrell and John C Reilly yelling because they're in a fish-out-water scenario. Like Will Ferrell in Elf... or Will Ferrell in The Other Guys... or Will Ferrell in a Will Ferrell movie.
Stranger Things (2016)
Amazing show that I love and hate
I want to write a review on how amazingly this show is executed. It felt like I am watching a classic 80's film. Every single detail was hit to perfection. There are some flaws with the show and there aren't but a couple of characters of which you'd care. It's cliché and predictable but none of that matters. The opening credits are so pulled from the influences that I actually felt like I was back 30 years ago watching something fresh. It's boring and you really don't give a crud about any of the characters, but you still watch it. To me, that's an amazing accomplishment. David Hauser and Winona Ryder KILL IT!! The other characters you either hate or just tolerate. Regardless, for something I actually disliked watching, for the sheer genius of execution, I give a solid 10!!
WWE Legends' House (2014)
Great Show with Great People
WWE Legends House is a fantastic show. The relationships between the former coworkers and friends come out in tension, fun and even some bromance. Personally, I really liked the old friendship of Pat Patterson and Gene Oakerland as the lushes of the group. Jimmy Hart gets picked on a bit but he is still as entertaining as he was 30 years ago! Hacksaw Him Duggan and Roddy Piper form a new friendship, Hillbilly Jim is just along for the ride but provides lots of fun and a very strange way of wearing a shirt. Howard Finkel is very sweet and quiet most of the time, which is the exact opposite of the way Tony Atlas is made out to be. The challenges are fun and there are definitely some times you roll your eyes, but it's just plain enjoyable. The ending is incredibly emotional, FYI. Thank you WWE for airing this!
Iron Man Three (2013)
I've only heard one person say they like this....
That was the redneck guy behind me at a game of bar poker. This is by far the worst film ever made. There are so many things that are wrong with it.... I tried to understand the guy's that get piping hot for no reason and the fact that Gwenyth Paltrow does nothing but defeat the villain... but I really lost interest when the main villain breathed fire and then all of Stark's suits started getting destroyed by people with 'hot hands'. I understand that you have to 'up the ante' so that things get tougher and tougher with each sequel but this really was awful. I rate it a 3 because RDJ was great and they also convinced Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce to sign on... Thus... the money they spent deserves a '3' rating.
