Orange Is the New Black: Tit Punch (2013)
it's... meh
'Tit Punch' is the second episode from the Orange Is The New Black web-series. in this episode it explores the stereotypical views of say, Russian women and men it is also rather drawn out.
The almost never-ending 'beef' between Red (stereotypical towards Russians) and Piper seemed to run over more than one episode when it could've been shortened into one but that's not to say it wasn't interesting. After Piper accidentally insults Red's cooking, Piper is made victim to bullying from Red who 'starves' her by not serving her food, and this is drawn out over both episode 1 and 2 and could be shortened.
OITNB explores the stereotypes of Russian men and women well in all honesty, it's not offensive and it is rather humorous at some points like in the flashbacks for Red when walking with her friends all her friends are very stereotypically dressed in 'housewife' apparel and have fake breasts and just generally look like a rich mans wife. With Russian men it does show them as brute gangster like people when they ( spoiler alert)hide a body in the meat freezer in one of the flashbacks.
Murdered by My Father (2016)
wow, just wow!
OMG! to be honest Murdered By My Father was awesome as well as captivating dear I say its almost addictive, it also makes you want to find out what happens next.
I think it explores the very sensitive issues with both arranged marriage and honour killings in Asian communities and families and it does it so well. It represents it in such a way that the viewer feels involved with the programme, the acting was amazing which really helped involve the viewers.
From the very start of the show when we are shown subsequently what happens at the end which allows the rest of the programme to go into depth and chuck us from side to side like a ship on stormy waters.
but not to drone on... it is a fantastic show and I really recommend everyone watches this as in reality this is a real issue and the programme explores it so so so so well. hats off to the director
