Chernobyl (2019)

watch and learn

Brings you to a time when you watched the news and never thought twice about what you were listening to.This superb drama tells you everything that went on and how close millions were to be evaporated from the earth for thousandas of years. The costumes, characters and the sets transport you back to the days and the acting is first class if you watch this you will learn and i would expect re think your energy preferences for today and the future.I sat down and watched the first three episodes one after the other not moving for 3 and a half hours and as i write this awaiting the fianl installment to be aired.I see its rated the highest show ever on the IMDB and si it should be theses films mini serioes are all well and good for entertainment ,your GOT etc but this programe Chernyobl is real and real is and was scary. 15/10 if i could give it.

Just watched this fast paced and well acted series.The charcters were interesting and the music absolutley fabulous, Set in the 70s music industry it gives an insight into the pressure and complex people in the industry from drugs ,money worries and trying to find that special band that every music company strived for.i found myself liking certain characters more than others and the plot was good and growing as the series went on,just as things are coming good for the company and the bands,with the added pressures bomb they end the show unbelevable,This was winner writen all over it.Bring it back HBO.

Orphan Black (2013–2017)

Good Start but.

So came across this and after reading some of the reviews thought i would give it a go The initial first hook of the first episode is a struggling wide girl single mother sees a woman commit suicide and steal her bag .after rifling through her bag she discovers she looks like the victim and decided to take on her identity to escape from her abusive boyfriends whom she has been in hiding from,She has a step brother whom she is close too and confides in him. the story builds from there and you soon discover the victim was a detective who had money in the bank and a nice house but was suspended from the police for a shooting,Thats the first episode and it builds form there. The one thing that is really not good is the loud background music constantly playing whilst the actors talk,and it s a struggle to hear what they are saying.i do not understand how the producers don't notice this before they released this.if anything puts me off continuing watching it will be that.after on e episode promising but the background noise will need to get better or i wont be watching it long.

Outlander (2014– )

Outlander Outstanding

I saw some reviews and because the male lead was from my part of the woods i thought i would give this a go and watch the first episode.Seven hours later and 7 episodes in a row later i have discovered the best TV series i have seen.GOT thrones you might think but no outlander is better the costumes ,atmosphere, story line and general acting are all superb.We have a villain by the name of black Jack Randall and what a villain he is, you will soon come to detest Black jack Randall.The story has intrigue,skullduggery,some fighting and a love interest which will keep males and females interested in this epic costume drama.As i write this i am now about to start on series two and if i watch the 17 hour long episodes as i did the first series i will have finished season 2 in two days.Settle down with some red wine and be entertained by this superb drama. The only unbelievable thing about outlander is that IMDb only give this 8.5 ,its a 10 in anyone's money.

The Girl with All the Gifts (2016)

Just another poor zombie movie

The movie has the feel of a cheap 1970s TV production,where the cast and there's about 5 main characters plus various Zombie extras are in a shelter, outside the are the zombies.The main character the little girl is the focus of the film.The movie starts of feeling cheap and tacky and continues this theme throughout,the actors are OK i suppose but i wanted to turn this movie off within the first 20 minutes i persevered and watched to the end mainly because there was nothing on TV to watch at the time i was watching this movie.The plot is pretty limited and indeed pretty underwhelming.All in all if you have nothing to do,your satellite TV is down and the only thing available is this movie then you would still be better looking at your living room wall.nothing to recommend this im afraid.All in all Poor.

The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

Don't waste your time.

As someone who likes a story and interesting characters,i read the reviews and saw that it was getting 8+ so thought this must be good.i quickly found out the story is survivors kill Zombies,if that's not enough to keep you interested well hang on in there because in each and every episode zombies get their heads shot off.Why anyone would think this is good is beyond me.The acting is very average and the zombies must be fed up spending hours in make up for their 3 second cameo before they get their heads shot off.I managed to persevere for 4 episodes of this apparently long running serious before deciding that there was better entertainment on the cartoon channel and filed this series in the bin where it belongs.

Lucifer (2016– )

i don't know why this has received such high ratings.The story is basically the devil goes to LA meets a female detective,he quite fancy's her and proceeds to assist her in solving her cases.The first episode was good but it quickly became clear that from then on in each episode was basically the same, detective has new crime devil helps her solve it.As a sub plot the devil appears to becoming human and his assistant doesn't understand why hes not being bad .I watched the first 6 episodes and then came to the conclusion each episode was same old same old.Its a detective serious with the devil as a detective.This review is based on me watching the first 6 episodes in season one,so perhaps it gets better but 6 episodes was enough for me before becoming board with it.
