This is how to be courageous
30 July 2023
Opening your self up and being honest with everyone else around you, sharing your true feelings, taking the risk that your ego may take a huge hit are all marks of a true champion.

Making an attempt to live your life in a way that would avoid hurting other people is noteworthy (i.e. 'What is hurtful to you do not do to someone else').

However, living every day in service to your fellow human beings is something else (i.e. 'Love your neighbor as your self').

I hope that Oscar and my self figures this out some day. I have been incredibly blessed to escape a childhood of so much pain that I almost took my own life.

Thankfully, a 'higher power' intervened and now I'm in a position to make other people's lives better.

A Small Light (2023)

My first review

I joined IMDB shortly after it made its appearance on the Internet circa 1993.

The production design is incredible. The cinematography is excellent. The acting is spectacular. The story is engaging. The historicity is exemplary.

I, usually, do not gravitate toward dramatic media. However, this production is so well balanced that I was sucked in very quickly.

Not once was I ever bored and anticipated every scene. The screenplay writers must be acknowledged for their incredible efforts.

I look forward to the remaining episodes and hope others will appreciate the great effort that has been put into this project.

This is my first written review since joining IMDB in the 1990s

I've been a lurking member of IMDB since, almost, its inception on the Internet as we know it today.

I've never been compelled to write a review of a film until now.

For centuries, people have been experiencing things all over the map of what we, traditionally, would conceive as outside of known reality.

What body or institution defines and catalogues our perceived worldviews or reality?

I'm perfectly happy embracing the unknowns of our universe and existence. I wake up every day looking forward to having more questions.

The awesomeness and wonder of it all is what drives me.

This film screams that sentiment.

Try to be a blessing to your self and everyone else around you.

Lost in Space (2018–2021)

First review at IMDB and I've been a reader for over a decade

I believe it was Woody Allen that made the point of entertainment being a distraction from our everyday lives.

To be brief, as a fan of sci-fi films I found this one to be entertaining. It doesn't have to be viewed under a microscope, held against what we know from astrophysicists, or compared to classic literature.

This story is meant to entertain and suspend us from our mundane existence while providing a strand of hope to cling to.

A great series in which the entire family can enjoy together.
