The Winchesters (2022)
Last episode saves it...no spoilers
I watched the whole series rather skeptically, but willing to give it a chance since Jensen and Daneel have EP credit. Granted I'm my 30s, so I'm probably not the target demographic for the show, but it's not bad. It's also not particularly good. It has a strong CW vibe and definitely feels targeted to the teens and 20s age group.
If you're worried about canon, the last episode (#13) definitely saves it. There's decent music, a few chuckles, and some decent creepy characters. It's fun to see some call backs to the OG show.
Not sure if it will see renew or not, but I'd be willing to give it another chance. It's decent for binge watching.
Law & Order: Organized Crime (2021)
Is it formulaic? Sure, but it's still enjoyable.
Of course it's formulaic, of course it's full of tropes. It is Law and Order after all! That being said, I'm very curious to see how this plays out. Stabler is back, so that's worth at least a few watches - and Tamara Taylor and Dylan McDermott earn a few more in my books! I will definitely tune in a few more times.
I Can Only Imagine (2018)
A cheesy start, with an emotional finish
Usually I find Christian movies very poorly done, and I would say the first 20 or so minutes fall into that category. Kind of cheesy, with some unbelievable dialogue, and the main actor does not pass at all for a high schooler (even one of the other characters says the beard makes him look 35). However once the movie got into the struggling band storyline, and especially the redemption storyline with the dad, I was hooked. Lots of tearjerker moments, but some good laughs as well. Definitely an enjoyable watch.
