Hustle (2022)

Sandman Strikes Again

Sandler may have put himself in the "sports movie hall-of-fame" with this performance. He did a phenomenal job playing a scout who has the desire to be on the Sixers coaching staff full-time. In addition, the basketball players all nailed there acting debuts. In particular, Anthony Edwards was amazing in his role as a trash talking phenom.

A Great Holiday Comedy

Despite what most of the critics said, this is a very enjoyable film. It has great physical comedy scenes in addition to some really strong acting performances. Archie Yates was supremely funny in the leading role. The mother and father were also quite effective in there own right. Overall, the movie works well as a nice little holiday comedy.

LD continues to entertain with a terrific episode this week, perhaps the best of season eleven. All of the actors this week turned in strong comedic performances, with Larry and JB Smoove leading the way.

Super entertaining premiere. Lots of great character moments and visuals. Also some fine acting performances in this episode. Let's hope the rest of the season can maintain the same level of excitement.

The acting in this movie is so inauthentic. The whole film felt like one big money-grab. They knew the movie would do well financially because of the title and the characters. The finished product is just a huge mess.

This episode had a few "edge of your seat" moments, which was refreshing. This was something we haven't gotten too much of in these "bridge" episodes The three main actors featured were all great as well.

Even after last weeks strong season opener, I still wasn't convinced that Fear had officially turned the corner. But after watching tonight's episode, that just might be the case. This is what compelling television is all about folks.

Better than Season 4 and 5 Combined

Fantastic episode. I came in with low expectations based on the poor quality of last season. I can honestly say I was blown away. The three main actors in this episode absolutely knocked it out of the park. Not sure about how the rest of the season will shake out but they are definitely off to a great start.

Super funny movie. I wouldn't put it ahead of Sandler classics like Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison but it's definitely his best Netflix movie to date. The supporting cast was solid, particularly Steve Buscemi and Noah Schnapp, but Sandman steals the show.

Solid Finale

Definitely not the best season finale this show has done, but there were enough entertaining moments to make it a fine conclusion to the tenth season.

The Walking Dead: Hearts Still Beating (2016) Season 7, Episode 8

Easily the Best Episode of Season 7

The Walking Dead wrapped up 2016 with arguably one of their best episodes in the entire series. From start to finish, "Hearts Still Beating" was superb in all aspects. Throughout the episode, there was a large amount of action, strong dialogue, suspense, and a whole lot of tension. I found myself on the edge of my seat for virtually the whole 85 minutes.

The scenes with Negan were riveting. This may have been Jeffrey Dean Morgans best episode to date. It was good to see a different side of his character after Rosita shot Lucille while trying to kill him. While it was easy to predict Negan killing Spencer, the overall sequence was particularly suspenseful and highly satisfying. I don't know too many people who actually liked Spencer's character.

It was particularly satisfying to see Rick snap out of his rut and stop worshiping Negan. The scene with him and Michonee might be the highlight of the season so far I really hope we see a more consistent and stronger Rick Grimes in the second half of this season.

I was a little disappointed Morgan and Carol were not main contributes in this episode. It is also hard to watch Carol's character when she is in "leave me alone" mode all the time. I hope to see Carol, Morgan, and also King Ezekiel more consistently in 2017.

Overall, Hearts Still Beating was riveting from beginning to end. It was easily the best episode of the season. I am especially looking forward to the second half of season 7.

The Walking Dead: Sing Me a Song (2016) Season 7, Episode 7

Excellent Set Up for Mid-season Finale

Sing me a Song was easily one of the strongest episodes of season 7. The penultimate episode of 2016 contained a fair amount of action, a great deal of suspense, and a strong build up for the mid season finale next Sunday. I found myself on the edge of my seat for arguably the first time since the season premiere.

The episode had a strong emphasis on Negan and Carl as well as giving us a more in-depth look at the Sanctuary. Some of the scenes between Negan and Carl were riveting. I was curious to see if the show was going to follow the same story line of their relationship as it is in the comics. There was a lot of skepticism that Daryl might be taking on this role. It'll be highly interesting to see Negan and Carl's relationship develop in the upcoming episodes.

I was a little surprised we didn't see more of the Kingdom in this episode. Melissa McBride and Lennie James are easily the two best actors in the show.

I'm not sure this episode had to be a full 90 minutes. I prefer a build up to the lengthened episodes myself. Extended episodes have almost become the norm this season.

Overall this episode was filled with great content and strong dialogue. I now find myself heavily looking forward to the next episode for the first time since the season premiere.

I "swear" this episode wasn't that bad

Contains Spoilers A lot of negative reviews have been given out for this episode but I personally found myself enjoying it quite a bit. I especially prefer the episodes in which they only focus on a few characters rather than try to mash everything into one. Last years episode "Here's Not Here" was perhaps the greatest episode in the series run. My only complaint with this particular episode is that I thought we were going to see more of Tara and Heath on the run together, which ended up being disappointing for me. Instead, the episode focused mainly on Tara and the new group of survivors that consisted of all females.

Tara displayed some unique character traits in this episode that I honestly was a bit surprised by. I found myself caught off guard a number of times. Particularity when she tried to escape the two members who were going to accompany her back to Alexandria. I wasn't at all surprised to see her new friend Cyndie, who I hope we see again soon, show up and help her escape. Overall, there was some strong character development this week as Tara displayed some unique traits I originally did not see in her character.

My guess is that we won't see new this group of survivors again for quite some time. Perhaps not even until season 8. It'll be interesting to see if these gals plays any role at all in the inevitable war between the ricks group and the saviors. Last thought about this episode. Where the heck is Heath anyway? Did he get captured by the Saviors? My guess is yes.
