Betty's Bad Luck in Love (2024)
Great actors, lame storyline
I've got to start off by saying that I absolutely adore the two leads. They are great actors and I've loved them in other movies I've seen. BUT their acting skills and chemistry were wasted on this storyline. Not a fan of this trend I'm seeing in hallmark to throw in a witch or psychic with some lame curse or creepy prediction and call that a storyline. We need an actual premise please. Saw this again in another hallmark movie The Marry Me Pact. Again two good actors doing their best with a subpar "the psychic said" nonsense storyline that fell flat. I say my love of the actors made me stick it out but it won't be on a favorites list.
Alex Rider (2020)
Give us Season 4!!!
This is such a good show! How it is not a more well known show is beyond me! It should have gotten far more attention than it did. They did a fantastic job of making it believable and gritty but also with a mission impossible flair that made it addictive. The actors are really impressive and the story lines were interesting. Really hoping they make a "all grown up" Alex Rider, maybe post University where he gets back in the game.
I think there is so much potential there for a season 4 after a fast forward. So impressed by Otto's acting too. Looking forward to seeing anything and everything he does next. Definitely worth the watch!
The Wedding Cottage (2023)
Chemistry Off the Charts
I can't say the storyline was anything to wow me. The setting was pretty but honestly average, felt like they could have showed off Vermont a lot more. But can we talk about the chemistry between Krakow and Penny. Wow! I've seen them in many other films with many other actors but I can definitely say their chemistry with each other was off the charts and really carried the whole movie.
I'd actually be bold enough to say this is my favorite role that Penny has done recently with Hallmark. He brought a lot of energy to the role that was super endearing. I may or may not have googled to find out if these two were together in real life because their affection seemed so believe-able. I hope Hallmark puts these two together again soon!
Big Sky River (2022)
Yikes...casting fail
Sorry hallmark...This one bombed for me. I can forgive a lot when it comes to hallmark, repetitive, predictable storyline in beautiful locations is what I expect from hallmark. Sadly, the casting on this ruined it. All great actors that I've loved in other movies but not together, hard pass! Very little chemistry between them. The last kiss scene they couldn't be standing farther apart and they both seemed uncomfortable. The storyline also felt like it needed at least 20 more mins to develop and the ending was totally anticlimactic. If you want to kill time then sure watch it but I'd you want to be entertained then I'd pass.
Love, Classified (2022)
Tried to be cool and failed
This movie is trying way too hard to be cool or relevant or Gen z friendly...it failed, miserably. Only got about 10 mins in and I gave up from boredom and sore eyes from all the eye rolling. The characters had no good lines, you aren't at all invested, the plot was muddy and confusing, the acting was under and over played by different characters. Hot mess. Skip it!
Angel Falls Christmas (2021)
Didn't bother finishing it
Got to about 20mins in and gave up. CMM is indeed creepy like the other reviewers mentioned and the storyline is blah. There are plenty of decent Hallmarky type Christmas movies out there...this isn't one of them. Skip it!
Indian Summers (2015)
Creeped me out
Don't understand the great reviews I barely got through the first episode. Incest vibes with TWO sets of siblings creeped me out. Just seemed like a lot of super creepy relationships and cluttered story lines.
Holidate (2020)
Absolute Trash
Is Emma Roberts hurting for cash or something? By 5 mins in you have already watched the worst movie of your life and no it doesn't improve. Not even a little bit funny, horrible writing, poor acting. Two filthy mouthed sad sacks who live like two inept peter pans who have no chance of becoming actual functioning adults. This movie should come with a warning/side effects label "may induce vomiting."
Enola Holmes (2020)
Charming, Witty and Fun
Totally the best thing Netflix has come out with in a long time! Really hoping for many more Enola Holmes films. It was unique, charming, visually interesting and smart. Such interesting characters and great acting!
Labor of Love (2020)
Boycott this crap!
I refuse to support a show that takes life so frivolously! How appalling is this show concept. Did no one stop to ask what the kid would feel like growing up knowing they were a product of this trashy show? I can't believe this show concept was ever approved by a bunch of "adults". It is an emotionally traumatized child in the making. I won't let it be "entertainment".
Sweet Magnolias (2020)
Beautiful gem on Netflix!
The dialogue and storyline is heartfelt. The acting is great. The characters are likable and warm and real. Haven't watch something that I've loved this much on Netflix in a long time!
Love Wedding Repeat (2020)
Waste of time
Not even quarantine desperation could make this movie worth your time. Trash
Lost in Space (2018)
Totally Hooked
II never saw the original version so I'm bringing fresh eyes with no comparisons but I haven't binged watched something like this in a long time. I was at the edge of my seat dying to know what happens next after every episode.
I thought the actors only got better with each episode. The storylines are fast paced and will never leave you bored. The visuals are fantastic and I love every minute of season 1 and 2. My only complaint is how short the seasons are. I hope Netflix gives it a season 3 and maybe more than just 10 episodes! Don't believe the negative reviews! Highly recommend this show.
Virgin River (2019)
Loved it!
If the shows Hart of Dixie and Men In Trees had a baby...it would be Virgin River. Stunning landscapes, small town charm, quirky interesting characters, and chemistry between the leads. Definitely one I hope get a few more seasons.
Designated Survivor (2016)
3rd season was a mistake
The first 2 seasons are a 10 but the third season is absolute garbage. Didn't make it through the first episode of season 3 without being so turned off. Poor writing, unnecessary cursing and sex, basically Netflix just added a bunch of cheap filler and ruined one of the best political shows.
Nancy Drew (2019)
Horror-able
Sadly this lacks any charm. Nancy is beautiful and a decent actress and it stops there. Nancy in this version is jaded, edgy, and pretty charmless. Pointless and shallow sex scenes, overdone horror film vibes, and a complete lack of likability for any of the characters.
Magnum P.I. (2018)
It's only improving!
I liked the first season but I did think it was a bit cheesy. Only three episodes in to season 2 and I'm loving everything I'm seeing. The character's are being better developed the chemistry between Higgins and Magnum is really great. And I'm a sucker for anything set in Hawaii. I think this will replace Hawaii Five-0 for me!
