Miss Americana (2020)
Wow!!! A must watch!
I am a Taylor Swift fan so getting to watch this was extra special and incredible. But honestly, a great documentary.
Loved the different topics that were covered and Taylor's views and thought process on the same. The movie did make me emotional witnessing her highs and lows. It also made me realize that celebrities are humans too going through similar problems and that can be difficult to notice with how the media portray everything.
Badla (2019)
Average but Predicatable.
A murder mystery movie. Liked the different versions of truth/lies that were shown in the movie and the importance of details as stressed by Amitabh Bacchan's character.
However, from the start it was obvious that something else was going on and the true story will be revealed later on. Some of the scenes were made very obvious (felt obvious to me) to the viewer that made him/her suspicious. For eg., Amitabh Bacchan's character staring at the window across the building, him talking on the phone to the lawyer, etc. I felt that since we were suspicious, we could not buy into Tapsee Pannu's story even if that might have been the truth. And therefore, it did not surprise or shock me when the true story was revealed later on.
The ending scene where he removes the face mask... sort of had a premonition that it would happen. Didn't feel it was necessary as well, movie was fine without it. Badal Gupta could just have been a lawyer that was hired by Amrita Singh's character for gaining justice.
The movie would have been more climatic if these details were revealed later on and the viewer would think that he/she should have picked up on it.
I was expecting more from the movie as I had heard praises about this film. Did not live up to the expectations.
When We First Met (2018)
Not the typical story you would think of...
From the trailer it would seem like a story of time-traveling and winning back the love of the friend who friend-zoned you. This was what I was expecting when I watched the movie!
However, it pleasantly surprised me with the twist in the story and that 'things happen for a reason'.
A light-hearted, fun movie to watch when you just want to watch a feel-good movie. And a movie which might get you thinking about life and it's oppurtunities as well.
