Prayer of the Rollerboys (1990)
It's OK
I have a soft spot for this movie, primarily as Haim was a pin up of mine back in the day and it is so very 90's.
The plot itself had potential but the script and the acting (at times) was iffy. If it had a better director, script writer and a bigger budget then it could have been a lot more successful than it was, however it seems to have done well as a cult classic.
I recently watched this again and the things that make it watchable are the guys who played Gary Lee, Bango and Bullwinkle (their acting was the best in the entire movie) and the soundtrack (it was edgy for it's time and cause it has NIN). Haim's acting was hammy at best and i just didn't buy him as the 'action hero' but then he wasn't successful because of his talent (for me his best movies were Lucas, License to Drive and The Lost Boys).
I think this is one of those 90's movies that might improve on a remake.
Dog the Bounty Hunter (2003)
Now this is reality TV!
I don't normally post comments but i just recently watched this show for this first time and have to say i am hooked. Dog and Beth are quite the double act, with tim and leland playing the straight guy roles.
I have seen other comments about their appearance and only have this to say, 'Never judge a book by its cover'. Sure they all look like people you should cross the street to avoid but you can't mistake their good intentions.
The only negative i have is that Dog should stop trying too hard to be this tough guy with a heart of gold, he means well and genuinely wants to help them but he sometimes comes across as fake and arrogant.
Apart from that you should watch it for the entertainment value as well as providing an insight into the business of bail bonds and the people who work it (as opposed to watching the recent Hollywood version, 'domino').
