Skins (2007)
First episodes?
I do not totally agree, first episodes of a brand new series always tend to focus more on introducing the viewer to the characters and can only have so much story line. The first episode was mainly about finding out which one is gay, which one fancies the teacher, which one needs to get laid, family backgrounds etc.
The trailer for the next episode already looks more interesting, now we know a little bit about them, they can build on it.
I thought Nicholas Hoult(from about a boy)was awesome, really grown up, and can see him doing very well for himself.
I think we can start judgement after a few episodes.
Extras: Daniel Radcliffe (2006)
Pure genius
When the episode started i thought i was on the wrong channel, the series within a series is pure genius. After the depressing but essential second episode this episode was surely going to be a cracker, and it was. Daniel Radcliffe(Harry Potter) was superb as the typical 17 year old boy, trying to play it cool with the ladies. Then there was the down syndrome incident which Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant are so good at, i was squirming with embarrassment and shouting at the TV begging them to stop. Andy Millman is fast becoming as iconic as David Brent, two characters who really aren't that different from each other. Both with hearts of gold and dreams of reaching the top. After three episodes of the series we are only half way through, when each episode finishes i can't wait for the next one, it just gets better and better.
