ITV drama - need to say more?
16 March 2022
99/100 ITV dramas are dreadful. Occasionally they get lucky and do a good one. This is not one of those occasions. There is nothing good to report I'm afraid.

Good until season 4
8 June 2021
Really enjoyable series but then Season 4 comes along. Tries far too hard and ends up just being odd and actually quite boring. Struggled through half of it then turned off.

Woke BBC at its finest
20 November 2020
The bbc used to be the gold standard of British dramas but sadly now it just churns out politically motivated nonsense. We currently live in a world sensitively balanced between left and right, this falls heavily on the left. From the first episode there is obvious jibes against Boris and Cummings and the government.

The characters are all out of place with reality. BAME and women shoe horned in.

Back to Netflix for some half decent drama.

Good until Season 5 happened

Great series but what the hell was that in Season 5? Absolute rubbish! Confused, rushed. Alice sub plot was pointless. Luther would have been struck off for going awol.

Decent

Having just the dross of the Bodyguard I needed something else and 2 episodes I'm pleasantly surprised. ITV dramas are not renowned but this bucks the trend. Good suspense and new twists introduced so far.

Woeful acting and casting
25 September 2018
I watch BBC dramas a lot and usually really enjoy them but this was way off the mark. Perhaps I just never bought into it from day 1 but the acting was atrocious. Richard Madden is wooden and all he does is stare. The overly PC nature of casting women in too many roles made it feel like woman's hour. Gina McKee was awful. The plot had so many wholes it in my wife and I were actually laughing. The realism was low, especially the suicide vest scene. Pretty hard to find anything good to say about it.

Baffled by the hype
11 September 2018
I am usually a massive fan of BBC dramas however this one just appears awful. Wooden acting, overly far fetched plot with so many holes you can drive a bus through. I know it's drama but a mentally unstable former army officer with PTSD would not be able to look after a cabinet member. The holes continue to the point of being comical.

Disappointing
27 August 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the first 15 mins was poor. Using an old train and disused station smacked of low budget. As has been all of Twitter, the over use of women in senior roles got silly. Had to laugh when the bomb disposal woman arrived in a BMX helmet. Maybe it wasn't just they were women but poor actors?

As this was the main character, didnt feel like the bomb was going to blow up.

After that, there was some odd dialogue and a lot of staring from the lead and episode one just finished without much suspense.

Needs more in 2 to keep us entertained.
