Hou lai de wo men (2018)
I deeply fell in love
This movie is so good to be true. The movie itself beautifully captured every single scene, emotion inside and it described how realistic the relationship can be. Both of main characters did an excellent job on how they captured their character's relationship, journey and story into something that incredibly wonderful and beautiful.
Christopher Robin (2018)
It does indeed marvelous, but...
Ah, another (not-so) great movie.
I adore Piglet and Eeyore when i was a child, and the bond between Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh. I love how their friendship could be so amazing. When i knew that the story of C.Robin and Pooh would be made in a movie, i was excited to see. By the time the trailer came out, i couldn't stop smiling cause the trailer is marvelous and perfectly captured the story.
Now, here's where the review begin...
I can say that there's something missing. The feeling. I mean this is Christopher and Pooh! I'm not going to say that Mcgregor didn't perfectly captured his character, Christopher. It's great, he's great. But, the feeling, there's something off and missing, probably the bond between Old Robin and Pooh? idk. The storyline? well, it is what it is. We already can guess what happen, it's predictable no surprises or unexpected scene. But, i'm not disappointed, not at all. Beside, i still did cry during the movie. And also, i freakin love the value of the film itself, that's all that matter.
So, for me...
It does a lovely movie, so great you can bring your whole family with. Also it has a great value, but for myself, still there's something missing.
To All the Boys I've Loved Before (2018)
Best Rom-com so far!
This is so good, im not gonna lie.
I love how the movie is so easy and light but also at the same time it related to teenager's life. It's not cringed at all. Lana Condor perfectly captured her character, which is Lara Jean. She's so smooth and so Lara Jean. I love the way Lana plays her character, she didn't too exaggerate her character in any way.
The storyline, ah it is what it is. Simple and easily understood. There's no too dramatic scene and that's good.
Overall, this is worth to watch!
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018)
This should be good...
Ah where do i start?
This movie could be the best summer movie of 2018, but then again something went off. Let's start with the first sequel, Mamma Mia!
I did completely enjoy the first sequel. My God, Streep definitely should be at the second sequel, but sadly she doesn't do sequel. That's the problem. That's the point. Im not going to say that the movie is extremely depressing and ugly because Streep isn't in the movie, but it does indeed something is off and empty like a big hole in the sea and that hole should be filled by Streep performance. But at the other side of the story, Lily James performance as young Donna definitely stole the show. She captured Donna perfectly, although only Streep could capture Donna better than Donna herself. The flashback isn't that bad even though the timeline is a mess. The present scene? just like i said, it's empty like there's a big hole in the sea.
Now, let's talk about Cher appearance. Completely useless and has no point. I'm so sorry Cher, you did good but not this one. Maybe this is the way out for the producer to filled the big hole in the sea, by filling it out with Cher appearance, but no, sorry the hole still empty.
